Long time lurker, first time poster. Small intro, played a couple years and retired, FFXI was my intro to MMOs. Played Wow after, have tried AoC, WAR, LotRO and numerous other games, only game after FFXI that peaked my interest was WoW so I have been playing on and off for like the past 2 years.
Anyway this thread sparked my interest to post, so many horrible UIs honestly, maybe I can give yous some ideas with mine I guess.
I'm going to url link the images because they are huge.

I fucking hate cluttered UIs, I like to be able to actually see the game I am playing.
I will give yous a small tip, because I'm sure a lot you might not know what a focus target is, most people I meet don't anyway. Focus Target is like a subtarget, you will notice the elite treant in the backround I have set on my focus target. If that tree was close enough, I could use focus target macros to cast spells on him without changing my main target from the little tree I have targeted. Its incredibly useful for crowd controlling, not having to tab to a different target to CC is such a hassle saver, and its much much more efficient, especially in PvP when you are trying to DPS a target and CC his partner. You can set the focus target keybinds options. Then look up how to make macros for your class on WoWikia or something.
I'll give an example of my fear macro: /cast [target=focus] Fear(Rank 3)
With this macro if I wanted to fear the treant in the backround, since I already have him set as focus target, I would not have to switch him to my main target to Fear him, I would just hit my macro which is just like hitting a normal spell on your action bar, much more efficient. You can also have pet abilities set as focus target macros, like my felhunter's silencing spell is useful to silence healers while I DPS their partners and other stuff.
And many people, for the love of god stop keyboard turning and clicking your abilities. No matter how efficient or good you think you are compared to keybinders, you suck, period, end of story. Quit using other bad players to measure yourself up against. Set A and F buttons to strafe left and right. Use ur keyboard to move and turn with A and F to strafe, if it feels too wierd play a couple FPS games to get used to it. Heres some of the keys I use to bind my abilities too.
Q E R T F G C X Z V ` 1 2 3 4, Alt+all the keys mentioned previously, Mouse scroll up, Mouse scroll down, Extra mouse keys if you got a gaming mouse. Some of those keys will unbind things like the C button will unbind the character pane toggle, you can just rebind stuff like that to Cntrl+C or something similar.
Long post but I hope it was helpful to some of you.
Even though I agree with everything you said your UI is still just as ugly as theirs. Sorry to break it to you ;\
I click my hearthstone. Do I suck?
Diff'rnt strokes. I'd get rid of that silly bar at the bottom of your UI, btw. Don't know why you need things like Conjure Healthstone/Soulstone on action bars, either.
Personally I think that UI could do with some work Skeeterxi. All those bars in the bottom right, most you don't have at the moment, and you even have some blank spots on the bars, couldn't you hide those until mouse-over or something? Or use Autobar so things you don't have are hidden?
Does your chatlog have to be so wide and the focus of your UI? the things you need to see the most should be nearer the middle so your eyes have to move less distance in combat.
I'm also not a fan of those unit frames, the small size as well as the background texture yo uchose for the bars makes them look a bit cluttered.
Well, the people yous meet tend to also be in terrible gear.I will give yous a small tip, because I'm sure a lot you might not know what a focus target is, most people I meet don't anyway.

@Skeet
You can't call people bad just b/c they don't bind things the way you do. I click a few things like my aspects and healthstones, pots, whatever. Do I suck? No. I'm pretty fuckin good at this game.
While I realize you thought you were being helpful, you came off sounding like an ass.![]()
If you looked at the screenshots you will see I click things too. Just not main abilities in combat. I click hearthstones, health/mana pots/summons etc. And I never said I had good gear, I rolled this toon less than two months ago I believe, and I don't play that much anymore because of school. And as for the people in my guild, I hardly even know them, like I said I just rolled this toon.
Skeet: WOW LOL
Do you even understand the concept of logical groups or concise information absorption? Having to look from one end of the screen clear across to the other to evaluate between my targets and my pet/personal status is not exactly a model of efficiency.
I know the target tracking has been a feature, but for the longest time it was limited by size/frame, and now it looks as though it got buffed to a nicer level.
I'm thinking I need to post a portion of the video of the timer bar I was looking for, because it was animated nicely.
I'm thinking I need to poast my DK's UI once I fix it.
Looking for some advice as far as cleaning up my ui. To me atleast, while in combat theres too much going on in the middle of the screen, partly I think because of my sct/sctd addons. I've tried to block out the poison dmg in sct but I don't think theres an option for that :/ I'm open to any suggestions and any changes to the ui, moving the map, removing some addons, anything!

The only advice I have is to stop playing a male blood elf.
Switch to MSBT or at the very least configure your SCT so that it's split out and coming down the sides (say, healing down the left, damage taken down the right, damage done up top).
Change from Elkano Buffs Bars to Buffalo
Move Grid down to just above your chat log.
Someone post a screenshot of buffalo. I'm pretty content with EBB except for the shitty shitty config menu, but I can navigate around it since I like the customizability regardless.
