As much as I support Miz, I think Aki or Tyche would be the best choices for the job (assuming they're up to it) mainly due to their input in this thread.

Plus I think Miz got singled out with the lol comment in Sono's post.

Are comments like "nice catch" acceptable if we elaborate a bit more on what we're talking about? For example, "Nice catch by fitzgerald, amazing pass by warner" gives people a better idea of what we're talking about, if they read after the game has already happened.

Anyway, glad there was some reconsideration and I'd vote Tyche for mod.

I'd guess that would be better. I can understand how having a page and a half of "HOLY FUCK GREAT CATCH" could be annoying, so.. "What an amazing catch by Fitz! Damn this game has been awesome" etc would be a little better, and if it's specific.

Anyway, I think Tyche would do a great job with the modding of the NFL threads and what not. He's as active as I am.

It would probably good to have an official NFL Ruelz deal that's on the first post of every thread that goes through crap like that. Sort of like the random image threads.

Or Miz isnt allowed to post about his man love for T.O., on topic, aki or tyche would be more than suitable and do note most of the time when we said "awesome hit" "great fucking catch" generaly we were all watching the same game pretty much, but I could understand that'd be annoying to sift through if you were looking for info on the game at hand instead of those comments.

I have no problem with Tyche, Aki, Miz or DJ modding it seeing as how they are pretty respectable peeps. I don't think modding would be that big of a deal seeing as how it's only 15~ of the same people posting anyway.

Locking last week's football threads for necro bumps is a good idea. Cutting out quote + lol posts is a good idea. Making people actually use the title box for the "nice catch" "holy hell" "Jesus Mary KC and JoJo did you see that?!?!" would alleviate some of the problems as well, or just abolish it all together. Outside of that I don't really see what else would need to be done. I ommitted the random derailing because sometimes I think it's a bit funny when everyone pokes fun at each other. Anyway, just my first sentence.

Also, I agree with trying to keep the posts regarding games to a minimum in the "Great catch" vein. The only time that really worked IMO was in the College Football Bowl threads as we were all literally watching the same game. Doing that in the NFL threads without being more descriptive makes things easy to be lost.

It wasn't because you or I was looking stupid (which we both were) that I wanted it deleted, but it was completely irrelevant to the topic for about 3 pages (which sono did say he wanted nixed from the threads). That's not the only off-topic posts I have asked to be deleted because it faded to irrlevancy from the point at which it started and had nothing to do with sports. The one mod I asked to delete it couldn't because he wasn't in charge of general. After that, I didn't press the issue as it got back on track anyway.

Edit: If I wanted mods to delete something everytime I looked like an idiot, I'd have about 4,000 less posts
