Trust me it's helping and my cause isn't what you think it is, you aren't smart, don't act like you know what's up.
Trust me it's helping and my cause isn't what you think it is, you aren't smart, don't act like you know what's up.
Now you get it!unless your cause is just to troll =/
Create a sports sub forum and let Charismatic and Senoska Mod it.
Gonna have to agree with the whole "One thread per season is bullshit" unless you really want 300+ Pages worth of posts clogging it up. We do different weeks for the NFL just because there's so much that goes on. Hell, we only had one thread for the entire College Football season until the bowls came around.
I understand how multiple threads could be an issue (I guess), but I think we all know what this is about.
On the note of anime threads in the Media section... there actually is only one Anime thread for it all. Some people just randomly make others for other announcements since they get lost in the massiveness of the Anime Thread.
Also, who really gives a fuck about what Charismatic posts anyway, rofl. The world is like one big bridge for him to troll around under. Plus, quoting The Lonely Island. Nice.
Can I please for the love of god mod a TO or a Dallas Cowboy section plz? This will quell my anger.
If you guys are going to need multiple threads each week then that sounds like something for a subforum.
If we removed sports threads from General Discussion... what would that leave in general? Random stories about thirteen year olds who look eight fucking an alien lookalike and having a baby? Religion/Government stuff? The FOD/Random Image threads? :/ I just don't like the idea is all. The sports threads in General cause me to look at the other topics in General, but remove those, and there's really little to no reason to check General anymore.
That's my opinion anyway.
A sub-forum with threads on various subjects on each and every sport is gonna suck.
One of the biggest sports related forums (Yankees only) I regularly visit uses one main sub-forum where there's a megathread on each player/coach/GM and a smaller sub-forum to house topics that aren't really thread worthy, but good conversation pieces. You could follow that pattern and make a sub-forum for a bunch of megathreads regarding the more popular sports and allow other crap to be made into threads.
.....but I think the current "system" is fine how it is.
or just do it how SAS over at somethingawful does it.
That is only for one sport - pro football.
College football has one thread for the season, so does NBA, so does NHL and MLB. Other threads about sports pop up from time to time, i.e. "Alex Rodriguez did steroids" for shit like that (akin to "XXX actress shows her cooch getting out of a vehicle" not being in that actress's show's/movie's thread), but when you're actually talking about the games only football does it in more than just one master thread. Considering we put 10+ pages on each week's NFL thread, I think it's warranted.
Is "cutting down on the # of physical threads" an actual forum concern or are people just making that up?
Hey, I agree that people shouldn't make threads about sporting events without it being clear what sporting event it's about.
Good to see we're on the same page.
Anyway, re: MMA threads, ...who really cares whether 2-week-old thread gets bumped or new one gets created? As long as they aren't on the front page at the same time for more than a day...who cares?
Agreed, but this makes no sense. I say you guys move this shit to spam and let us rape it to fucking hell.
I just dont see the point, might as well make a medical section. How about a News sections and phase away general altogether?
I'm still down for a Discussion forum and thread.
