I just installed it for pc, but i can't see it. As in, i can hear sound, and see the mouse cursor, but i can't see anything else. This is disappointing. Anyone have any idea what's up with this?

Dumb question here. Is it possible to redownload and install it?
yes you can re-download from steam.
and it sounds possibly like your video card is the wrong shader model?(if its an old video card)
Didnt even know it was out for PC![]()
the only way to play
What video card do you have? Might need to update drivers as well.
Video card is:
Driver: RADEON 9200
DirectX Driver Name: ati2dvag.dll
Driver Version: 5.2.3763.0
DirectX Driver Version: 6.14.10.6368
D: That's an old card, latest drivers for those are 6.11 (yours are 5.2) from November 2006. Upgrade them and see if that helps.
Never upgraded the PC ever since i got it, anyway, i'll try and update and see if that helps.
Downloaded the updated version, but my pc went retro and i can't seem to raise the resolution because it says the driver is not for this version of Windows. This is very annoying.
Did you download the right driver version? What OS are you running? I'm going to assume XP Home? If so, this is what you should've downloaded. If you're running Vista, unfortunately they don't have any drivers for it, so you're SOL unless you buy a new card.
Fixed the retro problem, and yes i have XP Home. I downloaded this:
Catalyst™ 6.11 Display Driver for Windows XP Professional/Home Edition
However it did not fix my problem, i still can't see the game, only sound.
It requires DX9 compliance, not compatibility. Your card simply will not run L4D unless you get another, newer card.
God damn it.
What cheap but effective graphics card would you guys suggest i buy? If you can help me out.
Uh, that'll run L4D? start with a Radeon X900 or Geforce 6 6800 and work your way up. (Radeon x1900, 3850, 4850, or GF6 6800, GF7 7900, GF8 8800, GF9, GF-GTX 260)
That basically covers the generations. All "last gen" top end cards are vastly superior to new low-end cards. So if a Radeon HD3450 catches your eye, get the top-end previous generation Radeon
Does that mean that anything compatible with DirectX 9 and above will do?System requirements 3.0 GHz processor,
1 GB RAM,
128 MB DirectX 9.0 graphics card,
Pixel Shader 2.0 support,
DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card[1]
No, DX9 *compliant* meaning DX9.0c most likely. Compatible means it can open a DX9 "instance" but not support the features. Compliant means it has the features of the revision.
It's the reason people bitched over Vista compatible and compliant. Those two words have been used in that fashion since early 2000 with DX7/DX8 and GPU manufacturers. Anyone tech savvy knew compatible does not mean compliant.![]()
I presume this means compliant. The HD 3650 has full support for DirectX 10.1 (DX10.1) under Windows Vista. Gaming performance was reasonable with older games, but it didn't hold up with the latest titles at high detail.
It's not impossible that you might have to pick up a new motherboard if yours doesn't have a PCI-express slot, too. I had to upgrade the motherboard of one of my older computers because it was made before PCI-express was around.
Edit: Also, yeah, that card would be compliant. It's been too long since I picked up new hardware so I couldn't tell you too much about the quality of it.
