So is this our one soccer thread for the 2010 World Cup?
If so, go Italy!
It's statistically unfavoring to win a world cup twice in a row especially when they barely came out ahead in the last one. Not to mention it might have been different if Zidane was there for the shootout. Unless your Brasil but they suck now too anyway.
I rooted for Germany was let down (Greece didn't qualify but they won Euro Cup go figure)
Considering I can't stand Man Utd, 10/10 to Liverpool, but I can't stand scouse footie twats either so both earn a well rounded 0/10.
Local teams ftw, gogo Hartlepool Utd! /donsflamesuit
Funny how people here say Euro/UK people and football when Superbowl is on you guys get even more serious! =p
I want to see another football riot, it's been a while somewhat. Or a rogue firework being shot into the crowd and hitting a random person in the head (she lived) (this was a few years back).
lolArsenal, how fucked up the ass they are without their one man band Fabregas.
I'm sick of hearing this shit that Avarshin will be some kind of fucking hero that'll save em their champions league spot. Hope he fails miserably.
goes to show us scousers aren't just about the robbing of old people and the stripping of parked cars. We also have some brainier schemes on the go.
first stuart slann, then the rest of manchester, THEN THE WORLDDDDD!
no one watches or pays any attention to the Eircom league. NO ONE.
we only suck because everyone pay so much money for our players that they dont feel like playing for the country.
You would expect them to do better so they can get even more money, but thats not really happening, you can see clearly that they suck when playing for Brazil and do amazing in their clubs
I support this.
Now that we are getting some attacking players back, hopefully it creates some healthy competition for playtime. Ade needs to get his passion back.
Not saying we don't still have defensive issues with our center-halves and holding midfielder. Hopefully Gallas keeps his good form as of late and Djourou can get back in.
Should be an exciting run-in.
Fuck holding midfielders, play Nasri/Arshavin/Fabregas/Walcott across the middle. Throw in any 2 of Eduardo, RvP, Adebayor, Vela and Bendtner and we'll score goals for fun again. Gallas and Toure appear to have reached a professional understanding, and Clichy and Sagna are as good a fullback pairing as you'll find in any team.
Our fullbacks aren't as big an issue (Clichy has dropped off a bit this year but he'll be fine). Gallas and Toure still are short and not the best combo. Very streaky. Djourou has had some solid performances and can only get better.
I really just hope Song can step up his game, but I'm not betting on it. He's had some good performances, but his preferred position is center-half.
Djourou needs to get a mean streak, then he'd be a real asset. Song I'm reserving judgement on, he has all the attributes, he's just been a little clumsy and inconsistent so far.
What's your take on Eboue? I'm rapidly losing patience, but if he gets his head together I wouldn't be too shocked to see Arsene try him in CM
