Back on thread, i don't know how they can even argue this shit. How is a fertilized egg different from a regular one? Is a girl's period a murder? Is male masturbation genocide? (In North Dakota).

Ugh, times like this I'm glad I don't live anywhere near the US. It's nice to know that if I wanted an abortion I could just wander up to a clinic, not have to go through hordes of people yelling obscenities, have it done safely, legally, and with a minimum of fuss.

Thanks Australian government, <3 you for knowing what isn't any of your business.

ETA: oh yeah and the government actually pays for most of it too! Thanks Medicare-that-works!

A fertilized egg is considered an organism?

I plan to be the first person to sue a fertilized egg for slander, extortion or possibly rape.

Well if it is a human organism... but i would have thought that you'd need to be considered a person to obtain legality and even then your rights depend on your condition. For example, being a child or being in a vegetative state, and if i'm not mistaken, there is legal basis for another person to let a human being (ex-person?) die if they are in a vegetative state.

Honestly, i'd rather the child be aborted than be born to unloving parents.

Funny, that's how it is almost everywhere in the United States, too.

Oh inland America... such a waste of space. Can't we scorch the earth and just import the rest of our food from elsewhere? We don't need them.
