Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

I knew they said DLC was already announced for this but it just feels weird to straight out say that.

Modern Warfare 2 map pack due spring 2010 - News at GameSpot

Activision Blizzard certainly knows a thing or two about hauling in cash, as evidenced by the publisher's billion-dollar April-June quarter. In a post-earnings call, Activision Publishing president and CEO Mike Griffith tipped off investors and analysts as to how it plans to extend Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's sales beyond the game's rapidly approaching November 10 release, saying that the game will get a pair of map packs post-launch.

Today, Activision revealed the timeframe for one of those map packs, as part of a giveaway for Modern Warfare 2-branded Monster Energy drinks that will go on sale in October. As part of a set of promotional materials provided to various media outlets, the Monster Energy packaging notes that 5,000 winners will be offered a free Modern Warfare 2 map pack, which has a "planned release" in spring 2010.

Activision declined to offer more information on the giveaway and would not comment on whether the spring 2010 map pack would be the first available for Modern Warfare 2. The Monster Energy prize opportunity also includes 100 copies of the game and 10,000 Modern Warfare 2 dashboard themes for the Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as free can of Monster Energy drink.

The publisher has already enjoyed significant success with downloadable map packs for Call of Duty. In July, Activision said that the first two map packs for its most recent installment in the franchise, the 11-million-unit-selling World at War, have achieved combined sales of 4 million units. A third World at War map pack went on sale in August.

It took me at least 30+ mins to download, or even try to, the Variety map pack when it came out because everybody was trying to download it.

I just hope when these are released it won't be THAT bad.

The only time i ever feel like i have the "advantage" is on creek. The side with the road, if i sprint to the log that leads up to the ridge theres always 2 to 3 dumb ass snipers not paying attention to anybody coming up the slope. Easy 2 kills at the start of the match. Creeks my fav map because helicopters rape face every time.

My fav setup is m16 silenced with claymores/ stoping power / extreem conditioning or deep impact. Click of a claymore is the most satisfying sound in the game. "Gottem Coach!"

The Next Modern Warfare Trailer Will Be Televised - Modern warfare 2 - Kotaku

Activision is kicking off a multi-million dollar advertising campaign for Modern Warfare 2 with a new trailer, airing during this week's installment of NBC's Sunday Night Football.

Interrupting a football game between the San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers is enough reason to cause some sports fans to want to shoot someone, so slipping the new Modern Warfare 2 trailer in between plays is nothing short of marketing genius. Expensive marketing genius as that, as advertising during Sunday Night Football tends to run on the costlier side of the spectrum.

The new trailer, featuring in-game footage mixed with whatever that is in the image up there, should be dropping sometime after the show starts at 8pm Eastern. Don't worry - if you miss it, we should have it up shortly thereafter.
