There's plenty of competitive value. Especially if you party up using xbox live/psn, you get matched most of the time with other parties.

I meant competitive, ie teams sponsers tournements etc. That typically doesn't comprise xbox/ps3 users either (at least to me, i'm still against the console fps thing from being sponsered on pc for so long). The last 2 games were shitty in terms of competitive value, they had a lot of flaws. Older COD's are much much better, and a lot of people that tried to play 4 on that level ended up going back to 2.

I'm hoping this one is more of a game that can be played at those levels, rather than just something to do with some friends and/or while bored and just another fps like the last 2 games in the series.

FYI PC CoD4 is lololololbad. Its a terrible terrible way to play the game because its so easy to abuse. MLG Hosts CoD4 competitive play.

There are also very few custom maps that are properly made and don't lag the shit out of any system. Personally, I enjoy Shipment V2, but since all I play on CoD4 PC is gungame (Since I have no need to level to 55 for a 12th time on a lan center computer to boot.) I'd kill for a gungame esque gametype in MW2 standard.

I've been playing loads of S&D with 2-3 other people, so it's usually nice to be teamed against another group. Usually any random seeking in COD4 ends up with a room full of team killing 12yr olds, so I don't play much unless my friends are on.

The only thing I'm hoping for in MW2 would be a Thermal Scope (alla-SOCOM 2), since I loved Snow/Night maps with a Thermal Scope. Although I don't know what their maps will be (or have they released anything ? idk). Oh, and Capture the Flag is the only thing I enjoy from World at War. It would be cool to see it in MW2.

Yeah what I mean is, the publishers are going to RRP MW2 at £54.99, but I'm hoping stores will sell lower because let's be honest, not alot of people will pay that in this current climate, and then just take the hit.... like the store I work at for example. But I could just be being hopeful.

It's good they're putting them at really high killstreaks, 11 kills for the AC-130 is very decent. The video didn't really answer as many questions as it raised... Such as how exactly are the perks used (it could just have been the editing of the video, but I got the impression that once you reached 11 kills you got to pick? Or did he set it before hand like you set perks?) how does it work with it being controllable? (he was controlling the gunship, then all of a sudden he was back in the middle of the map, with the ammo he'd just fired falling on guys in front of him)

In response to Octavious: I think they have to have thermal scopes, they've made a level with snow and blizzards. How could they not?

And to be honest, I don't really care about the price any more, if it's £55 so be it, I'll be buying it either way.

As much as people will be annoyed by that price hike (it is bs after all), I think they will bite the bullet and purchase it anyway. It is certainly a dirty tactic, but I'd probably pay $100 for this game.
