Whats an enjoyable difficulty for leveling all these characters?
Whats an enjoyable difficulty for leveling all these characters?
Normal is fine if you're trying stuff out, you can change difficulty mid-game if you don't care about achievements too, if it's too easy
I've only done the one playthrough on either hard or vet as vangaurd and just really need to play again but this time have fun. I tried importing a bunch of ME1 character saves from the internet to see which class was actually fun but yeah not really sure still haha. My vang used a lot of abilities like reave/pull/etc guess I need a change.
Normal is enough of a challenge if you're learning new skills and whatnot, it's easy enough that you can get a feel for what the class is like but hard enough that you can't just breeze through enemies blindly shooting.
Also on Normal enemies don't have those special resistances, making Adept a shitload of fun since you don't have to strip armor/shields in order to get masses of enemies sucked up in a singularity. Adept + Miranda on Normal is like rolling death, with shit exploding all over the place
I've only ever played insanity, most of the time it feels right... but sometimes enemies just seem like they have too much health (YMIR Mechs especially)
did anyone happen to shoot/run over one of those cows (same species as the "shifty looking cow" from ME1) during the Overlord mission?
Spoiler: show
Looks like they ninja'd another DLC weapon/armor pack onto marketplace. This one is called the Aegis Pack, which gives you the Incisor Rifle (which was originally only available to PC customers who preordered the digital deluxe edition) and the Kestral Armor (a 5 piece set that actually looks pretty sweet).
I guess they're going to do this with all the "premium" dlc gear that was available for preorders? Release it along with unreleased armor or weapons, so that even people who purchased it have reason to buy it again. I guess that's a pretty smart way to make some money.
Supposedly the Incisor Rifle is great for your teammates so I might bite, especially since the Kestral Armor looks kinda nice. 160 points isnt so bad.

btw here are the stats if you use all the pieces together:
+30% Melee Damage
+5% Headshot Damage
+11% Weapon Damage
+25% Shield Strength
+5% Spare Heavy Weapon Ammo Capacity
Thankfully you can use as much or as little as you want, the only gear I'm lacking are the 2 extra helmets that came along with the Inferno Armor in the Equalizer Pack so I might experiment to see what gives you the best stats that aren't melee lol
I like the fact that the Kestral armor can be mixed with your other armor. My shepard looks retarded wearing his recon hood![]()
I wonder if it's worth getting the Equalizer pack if you already have the Inferno Armor. It seems dumb to pay 2 dollars to get 2 helmets, especially when they probably don't add much.
edit: eh nvm, Capacitor Helmet is the same as the chestplate, 10% reduction until shields start recharging. And the Archon Visor reduces power cooldowns by 5%, still probably better to use blood dragon armor on Adept.
Incisor is 2nd best Sniper after Widow.. definitely makes the purchase worthwhile.
from what I understand, the Incisor is better for teammates since they have uncanny accuracy with it and they don't get any damage penalties on higher difficulties. But for Shepard, the jerking of an enemies head from a headshot can actually cause the 2nd/3rd shots in the burst to miss entirely.
For my soldier I went with the Revenant which I fucking love. I can't imagine using anything but the Viper though, being able to fire 12 rapid fire sniper shots is hot. Only 1 shot per clip on the Widow means missing is out of the question, in that time it takes to fire and reload the widow you can squeeze off at least 5 or 6 viper shots too.
edit: Incisor has lower base damage than the Viper too, and less ammo
"Lair of the Shadow Broker" DLC coming soon

Fkn swt
Hoooly shit. I want it, I want it now. Liara looks sweet in that pic as well.
Fuck yessss.
Cool more missions. I always wondered what happened to that Liara sidequest.
Very nice! I was psyched to see this today. I just finished the Overlord DLC last night (bought it a while back, just getting to it now) and I really enjoyed that. The ending was sadI hope this is just as good. Considering the content, I think it ought to be. I think this will be the first post game DLC that bridges ME2 & 3 that they were talking about. Day one purchase for me. (As is all other ME2 stuff)
Also; Mass Effect: Retribution, the 3rd book in the ongoing series comes out. Having read the other 2 books, I am greatly looking forward to this one.
Are the books worth reading? I read a little bit about them on the ME wiki and it didn't seem to be much. The comic I only read to know why Liara is so high strung.
The books are really enjoyable. They are all written by Drew Karpysyan, who is the lead writer on Mass Effect. They definitely hold up on their own, even without featuring Shepard. In the first book, you find out more about Anderson and Saryn, and some other things. The second book also has a lot of cool stuff, like information on the Quarians (particularly the flotilla) and more information about how Cerberus operates. I've read them both twice through, and find them to be equally engaging. They're paperbacks, so you can probably get them dirt cheap.
new DLC out today, "Firepower Pack" for 160 pts ($2)
I wonder if the pistol has more than 24 shots... if so I might have to get it lolThe Firepower Pack adds three new weapons to Shepard's armor locker:
When a “heavy” pistol won’t do the job, the Phalanx brings the bang! It hits like a hand cannon and features an integral laser sight for a whole new aiming experience!
Ever wanted a sniper rifle without the scope or an assault rifle without the recoil? The Mattock heavy rifle is a hybrid of the two, a semi-auto beast usable by any class with an assault rifle skill!
The Geth Plasma Shotgun is a three-barreled monster that creates plasma the right way -- on impact! Charge it up for even greater damage, or blast away rapid-fire at longer ranges than normal shotguns!
Any pics of the guns in action?
