They could do what they've done in previous Bioware games and make certain characters only available to male/female pcs or certain morality paths, like your choice between Chai Ka/Ya Zhen in Jade Empire, and Death's Hand.

Jade Empire even had a party member who was pure support, when selected they'd just sell you things, but you had a grid of 9 icons to represent your allies.

If they DO in fact releasing ME2 for PS3, you can be pretty sure it'll be well after the xbox360/PC release, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a PS3 port of the first game at some point.

In semi-related news, is there an iPhone emulator to play Mass Effect: Galaxy? Maybe they'll include it as a minigame in ME2

DAMNIT, I don't really care if the Mass Effect series goes to PS3 as well, but I know that version will get exclusive content and that really pisses me off. Mass Effect was my most anticipated game for a LONG time (and I subsequently played through it 4 times), and ME2 is my current most anticipated game, and the idea of missing out on any part of the game really irks me.

Speaking of which, every time a timed 360 exclusive RPG goes to PS3, someone mentions that Sony requires exclusive new content added to the port...can anyone link to a source of that?

I can't find the link at the moment, but it is true. Sony demands exclusive content when things are ported to the PS3 afterwards.

This will end up pissing me off depending on how bioware handles it. I really don't mind paying for a game of this caliber twice, truly; however if it's something radically game-changing I'll be very pissed.

Mass Effect 2 Dated For January, Preorder Bonuses Abound - mass effect 2 - Kotaku

EA has nailed down a January release date for Mass Effect 2 in North America and Europe, detailing the special armor and weapons available as preorder bonuses in the process.

The epic space RPG continues on January 26th in North America, with Europe joining the fray three days later on the 29th. Along with the release date announcement, EA has revealed preorder bonus equipment available via download code once the game hits store shelves.

Most retail outlets will receive codes for Inferno Armor (seen above), which increases your Commander Shepard's negotiation skills, run speed, and combat damage. Those opting to preorder from GameStop will receive the Terminus Assault Armor (seen below), which includes an armor suit that augments run speed, damage, shields, and adds an additional magazine of reserve ammo, and the M-90 Blackstorm Heavy Weapon, which generates a localized gravity well, which sounds painful.

Blah, getting annoyed with pre-order garbage coming with most games lately, and it reeks of EA's influence... the items will either be worthless (other items give same bonuses) or game breaking, and idk which would piss me off more.

Still I'm extremely exited about this game, and been replaying through ME for a definitive game save to load from.

"additional magazine of reserve ammo"? does this mean weapons aren't going to have unlimited ammo anymore and only be limited by overheat? Or is that olde news that I've avoided reading in an effort not to read anything about the game?

As a PS3 only user(no money to buy a 360 ) i see no point in releasing the sequel to ps3 when we don't even know what happen in the 1st one, of course they will do a recap on all the shit that happened in the 1st, but still for me that isn't the same as playing it and seeing the story as it develops into the sequel.( of course i know all of this is rumor and more when it's coming from EA Russia but still...)
