ME2 Demo is up
ME2 Demo is up
After choosing Male or Female shepard.
The demo starts with a "Previously on... Mass Effect" with the Illusive Man detailing the events(with cutscenes from ME1) to tell what happened in the first. First part of the demo is the normandy exploding and waking up 2 years later in the Lazarus project place and escaping it.
The second part of the demo is where you look for Mordin and all that.
I haven't played ME2 on the 360 since February but this really does look sharper than that. It must be because it's on the ME3 engine.
Shit, I am jonesing to play this game and all of the DLCs I haven't played yet so bad. Problem is my 360 is still dead. Seems logical to just get a PS3 since you can just plug in all of your ME1 decisions, but I still feel like I will miss out on something, and I kinda wish I could have all of my old saves go all the way from ME1 to ME3. What to do...
Can you get to level 30 in one playthrough starting from level 1?
Don't think so (though maybe now with all that DLC), the first playthrough I did took me to 29.
I've gotten 1-30 on a single playthrough but yeah almost positive you need DLC.
Well if the PS3 version comes with all of the DLC then that makes too much sense.
i think i read somewhere that the ps3 version using the comic for ME1 theres going to be at least 200 different ways to start ME2 so im pretty sure ps3 version will win
Goddamn I laughed so fucking hard at the calibrations part.
just to remind people who may care, the 3 xbl dlc packs are 200 points each today only ($7.50 total)
Picked up all three through the website, great deal :3
Did anyone else read Retribution yet?
You say that like it's a bad thing! I thought it was awesome to have a voice to put to the character. Especially 2 great actors like them.
I read the book, yeah. Read all 3 actually. They're all really good and fill some gaps, while concentrating on other characters aside from Shepard. What I'm really interested in is the new Mass Effect comic that will reveal Illusive Man's origins. Or delve more deeply into it anyway. The Mass Effect: Redemption comic is pretty good, and fills you in on how Cerberus got Shepards body.
Ooh I need to read those comics. How many have they released?
6 I think.

News updates from Mass Effect 2's Cerberus Network will cease after the service marks its one year anniversary on Jan. 24. Updates will then come only with downloadable content - and one more package is on the way in 2011.
Cerberus Network's daily update has added background to the Mass Effect continuity, providing a short one- or two-paragraph item on out-of-game happenings elsewhere in the Mass Effect universe. Oftentimes the updates were humorous analogues to news events taking place in the real world; others took a more serious tone and extended the story told in-game.
Beginning Jan. 24, Cerberus Daily News will go on hiatus - "daily postings will cease except for three weeks in 2011," wrote CDN. "A week of posts will precede a downloadable content release, and two more weeks will lead up to the release of Mass Effect 3."
ME2's last DLC package was The Lair of the Shadow Broker, which released Sept. 7. The PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 arrives Jan. 18 in North America. Mass Effect 3 is slated for a holiday 2011 release, so it sounds like we'll be getting something before then.
Got this yesterday....only played a little but its a pretty damn fun game. It was also a nice surprise to see the Dragons Age Orgins Blood Dragon Armor as an option to wear.
Just played the PS3 demo last night and holy F its like a 45m-1hr long demo if you take it slow. Never played any of the Mass Effect games so I will definitely be buying this. The voice acting and the overall atmosphere of the game is top notch.
