that's probably why I said vanguard, I have played through more times as that class than any other. I wasn't impressed with infiltrator when I tried to start one up, but I didn't get far enough to get 'tanks' on my team to distract enemies so I could snipe them. It will probably be the next class I run with just to try it again.

You honestly don't need tanks for anything. You cloak then one shot with the sniper rifle.
    Cloak, snipe. Cloak, snipe.

    Works on damn near everything.

Yep, though if you want a tank, Grunt is fucking perfect for it. Though I manage well enough with Kasumi even on my team for final boss.

    Time dilation + invisibility + 70% damage + Miranda + Ammo + Headshot + Widow = Dead anything.

Can anyone recommend a FUN class for a 2nd playthrough? Debating using my current ME2 save, or importing a ME1/ME2 save from the internets.

I went vanguard first playthrough, picked up the AR I think on the ship. I remember having a lot of bionic abilities like reaper and such. I guess I want something different/fun for either hardcore or insanity, whichever I decide on.

It's all downhill from Vanguard, sonny boy.
But I really liked Infiltrator and Engineer as well.

Really? Most people I talked to said they disliked vang the most and said it was one of the harder ones for insanity.

Yes, it's one of the harder ones... doesn't make it any less fun though.
Unless you're some kinda pussy I guess.

Vanguard has been my main but I've never played these games beyond hardcore difficulty. Is it really that much fun on insanity? >.>

It's definitely worth a run on insanity. Game is tough as hell at the beginning but once you start to get upgrades and learn how to deal with specific enemies it gets a lot easier. Game forces you to actually use the abilities in rock/paper/scissors manner that they teach you in the tutorials/achievements in order to succeed, there really isn't any room for ignoring it on higher difficulties.

I found Adept insanely fun, maybe not so much on hardcore/insanity (but you can still manage), but on normal/hard it's great to fling people around with biotics.

Infiltrator and Vanguard I think are equally as fun, but dependant on playstyle. If you like keep away, using cover and shooting people in the face, Infiltrator is your man. But if you like going balls to the wall and fucking people up with a shotgun at close range, then Vanguard is your man.

Engineer is fun with its drones, especially if you have Legion and Tali using them as well, was funny how little we actually got shot at.

I play a male and a female shep. My female is an infiltrator and my male is a Soldier, Infiltrator is definitely my favorite to play. Yes Insanity is fun, dont be a pussy, and just do it.

So question. If I wanna start the game over as a new class do I have to start a new one completely without loading my ME1 or previous ME2 saves or can I change things after getting bonuses? xD

ME1 import lets you change class, ME2 import you're basically playing a continuation of that character so have to keep class/level/weapons.

Thanks. Good to know I can keep my ME1 bonuses when trying out a new class.

Just beat the game last night (PS3) for the first time. Had a question about the last mission.
    Spoiler: show
I tried playing through the Suicide Mission the first time without clues or hints, knowing I would go back again to beat it with everyone still alive.
However, I used a loyal Jack for the biotic forcefield generation portion of the mission, and she failed to keep me safe from the seeker swarms; I lost a crew member at the very end of that walk. According to the Mass Effect Wiki, loyal Jack or loyal Samara are "ideal" for that use, and I'm confused why Garrus got carried off.
My current plan is to go through it with Samara again to try to make it work, but I'm now concerned that I missed something earlier in the game that will allow me to beat it with anyone if Jack isn't good enough.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

Weird, I''ve used both Jack and Samara and that never happened. Maybe it had to do with your other choices? Otherwise, not sure what happened lol, possibly a new PS3 thing.

Your Garrus was not loyal. That is why he died. Anyone you take with you and is not loyal will die.

I've completed all the loyalty quests except Zaeed, which I did too early and saved the refinery workers, and wasn't Paragon or Renegade enough to convince him it was OK.

The PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 has been patched, and in the process, has revealed details on an upcoming DLC pack called "Arrival." Featuring three new Trophies, the BioWare forums have been abuzz with theories on what the expansion will entail.
    Spoiler: show
One of the Trophies, "Covert Action," refers to a Dr. Amanda Kenson, who was previously mentioned in a recent Cerberus Network update:
Historians and astronomers alike are abuzz tonight over a new paper published by Dr. Amanda Kenson of the University of Arcturus ... "Only a small fraction of the mass effect relays date back 50,000 years," she writes, "The majority are far older, indicating they were created by a species predating even the Protheans." ... What civilization could have spanned the galaxy for not thousands, but millions of years? If this were the case, we should have found mountains of evidence of their passing. Where is this species now?"
Some believe that "Arrival" can refer to the arrival of the Reapers, setting up events for the upcoming Mass Effect 3. Others, however, are more fixated on figuring out how to acquire one of the more ominous Trophies for the DLC: "The Ultimate Sacrifice." Wasn't dying once sacrifice enough?
