I used Kasumi & Miranda for pretty much everything. I hope ME3 gives expanded dialog/story on expansion characters.

Both are my main bitches. I told everyone a few years ago at the end of ME1 that I was going to get that. I cant wait for 3, I hope they cut back just a tad on the whole 15 man missions and just guns a blazin and get a little more back to the original. Scanning planets in the first was far easier and less time consuming in 2 and the planet exploration was random in part one, so you literally didnt know what weird base or Cerberus hideout youd run up on.
Sometimes less is more.
I think I'd prefer something in between, like more crafted outdoor areas like in Overlord, but with the searching for resources and finding hideouts/quests mixed in with it. If they could make the vehicle combat a little more compelling, I think they'd have a pretty good formula.
I'm pretty sure that feeling of exploring a big open planet area is what they were trying to recapture from the first game in Overlord. Although it was kinda limited, just a few battles vs. turrets here and there and those few data scanning things, it definitely feels like they were trying out new stuff to use in future DLC/games. I think that if planet exploration makes a comeback in ME3 it'll be a little more fast paced like Overlord's hub area, but I'd definitely like to see a little more of that same sense of exploring an uninhabited world that ME1 was able to capture so effectively (complaints about the Mako's handling aside, of course).
Well for me the Mako killed pretty much any fun all the exploring had. If they can find a better way to do it I'd be up for more open exploration.
Mako was fine for me, i actually loved it. it was the horrible ass planets that had for us to explore that made it dull. Randomly shaped/colored terrain and a few of the the same kinds of objects with 1 bunker on every planet got boring fast.
Mako was fucking awesome, as stated above it was just the generic planet design that made it repetitive. Every system pretty much came down to 2-3 scannable objects for minerals/items, and 1 planet with 1 bunker/building. There are a few exceptions obviously like the Cerberus labs when looking for Kahoku, the Major Kyle mission(although with just a small amount of Charm/Intimidate you can really bypass the building and go straight into the bunker tbh). The Geth forces amassing is one of my favorite mission lines since it requires alot of Mako use, and even a combination of Mako + ground combat since you get ambushed as you leave a bunker in one system.
I had always hoped they made the Mako transformable to switch from Ground combat to mid-air exploration since exploring different planets for nodes got boring when it came to climbing mountains over and over. That and I want to fight a Thresher Maw in the air...
New Arrival press release up on Joystiq.
"Admiral Hackett calls for Shepard to go it alone." nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Cannot wait til Tuesday GDI!!

Mako was terrible and the repetitive, bland planets were terrible as well. What crack are you all on?
Only really cool thing about the Mako was fighting Thresher Maws in it... those fights were more fun on foot though.
Mako fucking sucked, ya'll nigs are all kinds of retarded.
Here is this state of the art planet exploration vehicle, oh but one thing it can only take a couple shots, fuck that.
