Adept Class looks awesome this time around, i played it in the first game but i hated the amount of cooldown for the powers, i would usually just mow through everything with a Pistol. have the lower cooldowns and being able to arc and bend the biotics looks sweet. i cant wait for this game.

My plan as well since the AI was retarded with pathfinding and firing weapons, but had absolutely no trouble using their powers without my intervening. That and the soldier changes are pretty nice.

And here I was feeling bad about picking soldier in ME1 and loving it. This should be awesome.

the nice part about this in ME1 is that you're teh only person who has to be in range of an enemy to use powers, meaning you can leave your teammates by the entrance and use tech/biotics from their power wheel no matter where you are in the zone.

What are the combat specialties of all the new teammates, does anyone know? Seems like there's a lot of biotics this time around (spoilering just in case):

    Spoiler: show

    Miranda: Biotic/Combat (Biotic/Tech?)
    Samara: Biotic
    Tali: Tech
    Grunt: Combat
    Subject Zero: Biotic/Combat
    Mordin: Tech? Tech/Combat?
    Garrus: Tech/Combat
    Jacob: Biotic/Tech

This may have been answered already but how is ME2 determining what story line to use from a ME1 profile? I saved the consul members my first couple times through, but killed them on my last play through.

I recall reading that any file you see when you go to start a new game in ME1 can be ported to ME2, so as long as you still have your old save you should be able to choose between the two.

EDIT: Found it - Mass Effect Forums
The easiest way to determine if your save will import into Mass Effect 2 is to open Mass Effect 1, go into the New Game Plus menu. If you see the save you want to be able to import into Mass Effect 2 in that list you are set.

in that case it's not based on your save files, when you go to start a new game and pick "Select existing ID" you get a list of all the playthroughs you've completed with your character(s), regardless of whether or not there's an actual save file in the Load Game menu.

if importing a save in ME2 works the same way new game+ in ME1 does, it's just a matter of picking that playthrough based on level/playtime.

Oh awesome, should be able to play both stories then. Now the only thing to figure out is when I'm going to get time to play it with school starting that week.

Only if you take your shirt off. I still need to finish Assassin's Creed and Bioshock, and get some more trophies from Dead Space.

Norwegian newspaper DagBladet is reporting DLC will likely be available day one or soon thereafter for Mass Effect 2. DagBladet says the usual items like armor and weapons will be available, but also other things, such as an unlockable planet and even a new ally by the name of Zaeed Messani, the grizzled bounty hunter pictured above. The piece also mentions an in-game store for unlocking DLC called "Cerberus Network," which sounds a lot like Dragon Age: Origins' DLC platform.

There's more info available, but in the interest of being as spoiler-free as possible, we won't go into it. So, if you don't mind braving spoiler territory, hit up the link below.

I like how the bounty hunter is pretty much just a recycled version of Canderous Ordo.

Don't get me wrong, I love pretty much everything Bioware does, but they have this tendancy to reuse character types to some extent:
Plucky teenage non-love interest: Mission = Tali
Gruff killer bounty hunter: Ordo = Bounty Hunter dude = Black Whirlwind = Sten
Nerdy female love interest: Bastila = Liara = Dawn Star
Main male love interest/huge vagina: Carth = Kaidan (even the same voice!) = Sky = Alistair
Naughty/bitchy female: Juhani = Subject Zero (same voice actress again lol) = Silk Fox = Morrigan
Murderous comic relief: HK47 = Wrex = Shale

I guess it works but yeah

Eh, I agree to an extent. They should use some more VA's, but it's just like English dubbed anime. A lot of the same studios use the same roles for VA's. I don't watch much dubbed anime but Johnny Yong Bosch has done Ichigo, Vash, Lelouch, and multiple others.

They just stick with what works. It's similar to like the same 20 actors in big Hollywood movies. I'm sure there is a ton of undiscovered/underused talent, but people like familiarity.

Plucky teenage non-love interest: Mission = Tali = Chai Ka's possessed body
Gruff killer bounty hunter: Ordo = Mandalore(Ordo in disguise) = Black Whirlwind = Sten
Nerdy female love interest: Bastila = Liara = Dawn Star
Main male love interest/huge vagina: Carth = Kaidan (even the same voice!) = Sky = Alistair
Naughty/bitchy female: Juhani = Subject Zero (same voice actress again lol) = Silk Fox = Morrigan = Ashley Williams (sort of)
Murderous comic relief: HK47 = Wrex = Shale = Drunken Master style guy (before he met his wife lol)
Mentor: Sagacious Zu/Master Li = Captain Anderson = Duncan = Kreia (KOTOR 2 should count too since its their IP)

I guess it works but yeah
    ftfy

I think you can cross-apply certain characters, like Black Whirlwind was definitely both murderous comic relief and gruff killer..

Also regarding the saves I read something on ME wikia page that got me a little confused.

There are certain restrictions to transferring save files. Concerning the Xbox 360 version, the main restriction is that the gamer profile, career and related saves must be located on the original device it was first created on.
So if I created shit on my old 20gb HD 2ish years ago and am now using a 120gb HD to which my saves were transferred I can't use those old saves?

    edit:
Kuya - As to your question, my semi-informed answer with some potential spoilers
    Spoiler: show
Considering Cerberus has a vested interest in humanity and a common enemy/mission with Shephard I think both parties are gonna put their mutual dislike/hatred aside?
