Wrex has been confirmed to make a reappearance in Mass Effect 2, provided the player did not kill him on Virmire.[1] If Shepard did kill Wrex on Virmire, then the Commander will be met with an icy reception on Tuchanka. If Wrex survives, Shepard finds he has united all the Krogan under Clan Urdnot to combat the genophage and strengthen the Krogan. [2]

Liara

Liara has been confirmed to return in Mass Effect 2.[1] She will not however be a recruitable team member due to her status as a 'love interest'. [2]
Liara is seen on the Normandy as it is attacked by an unknown assailant. She then rushes to Shepard in what is assumed to be Phoenix Armor; later, she is seen climbing into an escape pod (with helmet on) before Shepard. After Commander Shepard is resurrected through the Lazarus project, the Illusive Man tells the Commander that Liara is working for the Shadow Broker. [3]

Tali in ME2
After the events of Mass Effect, Tali returned to the Migrant Fleet and joined the crew of the Neema. During the events of Mass Effect 2, Tali is 24 years of age.[1]

In Mass Effect 2 Commander Shepard, while investigating the disappearance of human colonies with Jacob Taylor and Miranda Lawson, encounters Tali at Freedom's Progress, a human colony, where she is searching for Veetor, another quarian who has mysteriously disappeared while on his pilgrimage. [2]

Later, Commander Shepard and the crew of the Normandy head to the quarian flotilla where the quarians put Tali on trial for treason. Shepard decides to step in and help Tali, as does another quarian, Kal'Reegar. Despite Shepard's and Kal'Reegar's protests on her behalf she is exiled for her alleged crimes. Following her exile she rejoins Shepard and the crew of the Normandy and assists them in their mission to put an end to the Collectors' campaign of mass human abductions across the galaxy. Following their naming conventions she becomes Tali'Zorah vas Normandy in the eyes of the quarians at this point.[3]

Garrus

In Mass Effect 2 Shepard is advised to recruit a tactical genius and infiltrator known as 'Archangel'. [1] Shepard's search for Archangel leads the team to Omega where they find Archangel under assault from a group of Eclipse mercenaries led by a salarian named Jaroth.

After Shepard's team gets through to Archangel he removes his helmet, revealing himself to be none other than Garrus. After Garrus explains the situation to Shepard, Shepard's team assists Garrus in taking out the mercenaries, who have kept Garrus stuck on one side of a bridge, and escaping [2]. At some point, presumably after this, Garrus is confirmed to join Shepard's squad. [3]

Kaidan and Ashley left blank because theres no info on them other than that they return.

Just to add to this regarding Liara and Ashley

That part you described in you're spoiler for Liara where she rushes to Shepard while the Normandy is being destroyed is actually determined by you're love interest. If you choose Ashley instead of Liara, it will be her running to you on the ship. This can be seen in a video posted on gamespot about character customization and exploration. I also imagine Kaidan takes this place if you were playing a femshep and chose him.

Archangel is Garrus, rite? That would mean we know all 9 party members: Miranda + Jacob (the 2 you start with), Tali, Grunt, Subject Zero, Samara, Garrus, Mordin, and Thane.

There's still 1 spot left on the character select screen from the preview videos, which I'm assuming is going to be Legion, although I'm sure recruiting him will make someone (Tali, at least) leave the party permanently ala Dragon Age/Jade Empire.

Legion is the Geth that basically stalks Shepard right? I almost think he's definitely the 10th party member because of the achievement list.

Little has spilled out regarding BioWare's DLC plans for Mass Effect 2 but yesterday, via Twitter, the studio indicated there will be launch-day DLC and it won't cost anything.

"Addressing rumors: BioWare will not be charging extra for any new Mass Effect 2 content on launch day. More DLC details next week," says the tweet.

Earlier reports had Mass Effect 2 planning a slew of downloadable content, although timing was mentioned for none of it. I suppose that we shall find what the deal is this week. We'd better, the game itself releases in just nine days.

Same as Dragon Age. This is why I like Bioware, they care about the gamer. They understand that you spent 60 bucks and arent gonna charge you day 1 for something that could have been on the disk.

You are aware that Dragon Age had day one DLC, Wardens Keep could have been put on the disc. Making your comment moot.
