HOLY FUCKING SHIT. The collector boss was an actual reaper just controlling that one drone. The pan out of the milky way with thousands of reapers was a nice touch too. Also fucking hell at losing three team members at the end. I lost Legion by accident. I knew Zero would die, so would the black guy, but fuck no Legion. ;_; (Although I'd have a hard as fuck time figuring out which of the rest to sacrifice. I like them all equally.)

The human reaper was creepy too. (Also, just in case: if you research the "nuke," fill its ammo and save it for this fight. It may seem cheap, but it knocked off more than 75% of its health.) I didn't think the fucker would be THAT powerful, I was hoping at least 25%.

I chose to save the station. I know damn well I'm going to regret that in the 3rd installment given how shady the Illusive Man is, but the pre-ending text made it seem like they'd use it for reverse engineering. The ending with him smiling at the station has me under the impression he's going to sacrifice alien species to make a reaper of his own. (Which would go along with his mantra of pro-human everything.)

That said I am utterly shocked. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a game like this for this long. Final gametime clocked at just under 30 hours doing most everything available (sans scanning every planet, I got bored of that after a while.) It honestly does not feel like I sat there that long, but this was just utter fun. Only time I felt like putting the game down was to either eat or sleep. Even the bullshit deaths (and there were a few, like changing guns means you can't go into cover) didn't deter me. I'll start a replay when I get back Sunday, but for now I'm just going to bask in the glory of what I was just shown. The plot twists (like the Protheans being repopulated into the Collectors) were unexpected. I wholeheartedly expected the Collectors to be another organic invention like the caretakers were. The Geth schism was another. I'd honestly forgotten about Legion entirely prior to the launch, and his explanation of Geth "culture" was in line with what I expected but still a shock at the non-consensus.

Also found the gay plot, sorta. I kept hearing rumors there was "something" in ME2, and it's the Salarian. I have no clue if you can do anything with him, my Sheppard was befuddled by the statement and I couldn't give a yes (closest was, "Well, I'll think about it.") He literally said, "If I were to propagate with a human, you would be my choice." I literally spat coke all over my keyboard because I wasn't expecting it in the slightest.

Oh yeah, for the final mission: My Sheppard survived, my Normandy took little damage due to upgrades, and only three members of my team died. I also told the Council to fuck off after they made their "generous" offer to reinstate me without any support. I'm honestly torn what to think about Cerberus as an organization now. I know deep down the Illusive man will probably sell out the other races for humanity's sake, but they're hardly the horrible organization they were in the first game. To be honest, I respect them over the Alliance (despite being funded by Alliance high-ups. Oops! thanks EDI!) for actually doing something about the threat instead of taking the Council's stance of sweeping things under the rug.

All in all though, 11/10, divided by zero, etc. More lore and insight in the ME universe is absolutely wonderful. Gameplay was superior to ME1 in every regard (although (on the PC) it may take you a little while to get used to the controls. Powers and sprint/action changed. It sounds stupid at first, trust me, it's much better. (I would bind action to your mouse's back button though.)

If you liked ME1, you will NOT be disappointed, and those of us who were fanboys of the first will just cream themselves.

Just curious, are you near finishing a playthrough after 22 hours? I've read that this one is supposed to be quite a bit longer than the first, and one review mentioned it is up to 40 hours long, but I find it hard to trust stuff like that as the first was supposed to be 25-30 and I finished my first playthrough in 15 hours. In fact pretty much every Bioware game I've played other than Dragon age I've finished in 20 or less.

Let's see. When I posted that earlier I still hadn't... gotten my last person, done four of the loyalty quests (that's not a spoiler, you see that within the first 10 minutes of the game on the stats screen), few random quests I hadn't completed, and was finishing off meeting up with Wrex again. So all that plus the ending was another 8 or so hours, I believe.

I did spend a good 3 hours of that just scanning and mineral raping planets. I swear the ME universe is made of Hydrogen and fucking Palladium only.

So ~26 for me, and I did most everything. That said this game won't suffer from run-around-itis like the first one did. That's 26 hours of mostly running from a to b to c to d and you might sometimes be forced to go back to b or a. In comparison, my first ME1 play-through was like 32 hours, second time around it was barely 12 when I learned where everything was. This game is better at being fleshed out instead of seeming like a fetch-quest unless you're on the main story path.

So, there are 2 games coming out over the next month that I want. FF, and White Knight. I didn't play the first one, should I really put out the extra money for a 3rd game? All 3 of them are going to be HUGE time sinks, and my friends are bugging me to get it. Is there any online or multiplayer, coop, campaigns or anything to do with friends? Or is it strictly single player?
