Since when was platforming new?

And I felt like a lot of the missions were really unique. I thought the sunlight aspect made Tali's quest really cool. Zaeed made you choose between being an hero or completing his mission... Garruss also has a really cool loyalty quest where you can save a dude's life or watch his head aspode... Grunt loyalty quest was awesome, too.

I think the choices that you have to make on the fly is what separates this game from others. Yeah the missions are linear, but you can still tackle them like a nice guy or like rambo. That's not an aspect that you really see in other games.



I'm using soldier for my first play through and it's extremely straightforward: Run into room. Slow time. Shoot shit. Duck. Rinse and repeat.

I'm gonna go with something different like Infiltrator or maybe even Engineer for my next play through.

Engineer is OP it really is lol. Heavy Overload destroys shields then Heavy Incinerate kills the armor and then your SMG kills health.

Not to mention that you get 20% off of upgrades when Tech Master is level 4.

I love my Sentinel, surprised more people aren't thinking of playing this class.
I picked up the sniper on the ship.
I'm pistol for close range, SMG for medium, sniper for long range and I have various powers including the AWESOME Power Armor which reduces my cooldown to almost nothing for most abilities.

God damn, this class is amazingly fun to play no matter what the situation is.

Sucked at first since I am doing Insanity on my very first playthrough but it's not so bad now that I've gotten a few levels under my belt and have my guy more customized.

Loved this game just finished it on Insane, its quite a pain in the ass.
Only question I have about this game is what is the purpose of the Collectors and building the Human Reaper. If at the end you see the fleet of Reapers coming out from dark-space. What it a distraction for Shepard and that's it?
I know from the get go this was to be a trilogy and the 2nd of most acts is desperation but I can't seem to understand where this ties into it.

Did the Reapers harvest sapient life in order to make more reapers or was that just something that only the collectors wanted to do? I didn't really understand why they were doing it, although i remember a comment by EDI that they migh thave tried to create a prothean reaper but it didn't work, but i think she said that she was not certain.

Reapers motivations are always going to be mysterious, at least until the third game. Hopefully forever on, because it would be like explaining God in a videogame: underwhelming. The obvious conclusion is that they do their purging just for reproduction or mechanical maintenance of the universe. Reapers seem really into evolution and see humans as a worthy addition to their little club. Though I wonder if it has anything with Sovereign being killed by them... because Husks(humans with their Reaper-building nutrients drained) have been appearing from the start and I think all the colonies attacked were mostly human. Eden Prime certainly was.

Harbringer wasn't a collector though, he was clearly a Reaper. I even heard a theory that he is Sovereign because he seems to know awhole lot about Shep. The collectors were a mindless slave race. A plot twist at the end is that even the collector general was just being mentally controlled.

I think the time line is like this: Sovereign was suppose signal the invasion after the human reaper was completed. Sovereign died and the human reaper wasn't completed, thus setting back the reaper's plans. However the complete failure of Sovereign and their plans were enough to act as a a reason for attack. If Harbringer is Sovereign / Nazara then it makes even more sense.

EDIT: At the end of the VERY "BAD" ending Joker flies to Geth space. I don't think he does this in the normal ending. Cyborg Shepard and friends!

EDIT: I am dying to find information on the transition between ME2 and ME3 and future DLC. For now I've found this info

I do not remember hearing that Harbringer was a Reaper, but now that you say it, it does make sense. Do you know a specific part where it clearly says or hints it? Also, i am not clear on how they were using humans. Were humans used as material for its creation? They said that reapers seem to be organic and non organic, is the organic part of the reaper made of humans? I also don't understand what it's mind is supposed to be, a collection of human minds or a collection or programs like i think Legion said. If they wanted to make a human reaper, the assumption would be that the current form of the reapers are in accordance to the previous organic race they decided was worthy of imitating.

I didn't think of it in that way, but makes more sense. With Human Reaper and such, I just wished they would of explained it a little better, because other then that the game is flawless story wise.

I liked the character's individual stories. I was reminded of StarCraft, while playing this game...

Like how Saren becomes indoctrinated. Like Kerrigan.

There being some higher species that created other species, but was overwhelmed by the creations. Frankstein Monster sort of thing.

Lots of inter-race blah blah.

I wish they'd make the plot a bit more 'grounded' and less cartoony. That's the feeling I get from the Reapers. They are out to consume other races. Doing so strengthens them or w/e.

Although, it didn't seem that nefarious to me. Dwight Schrute absorbed his twin brother when they were both fetuses. So....yea. He now has the strength of a full-grown man AND a baby.

I liked the tensions between Cerebus and the Alliance. Between the Salarians and the Krogans, and the moral dilemma of the genophage. The Geth and the Quarians - Creation vs. Creator (Legion wondering why the Quarians attacked them, is interesting).

Etc. etc.

To me, the 'expanded universe' I suppose you could call it - is more interesting than the main plot of Reapers being a bunch of fatties, eating everybody.

But I guess, it's about the entire experience and not simply the main storyline. Plus, all those various subplots have resolutions that contribute to the main plot I guess..

So just finished it as a soldier, was fun. I went into the game being racist not wanting Jacob anywhere near my teams but man oh man he was the character I felt the strongest connection with outside of Jack/Tali probably.

I was very underwhelmed by the whole 'suicide mission'. Outside of having to keep up with my tech character w/ heat releases it was way too easy. They should have made it so that you can only earn the loyalty of a certain # of people or have a max # of ship upgrades to make the whole survival aspect more challenging.

Also, what the fuck at the proliferation of AI in this game. I got the impression from the first game that because of the geth AI was illegal and looked down upon universally. Having just EDI would've been semi reasonable imo as Cerberus is evil and shit but like half the mobs you kill were mechs and in council space where that shit definitely shouldn't fly especially since Shephard has now had 4 side quests that involve shutting down rogue VIs that wreck havoc lol.


Finally, my last big gripe with the game was that for the most part the side quests were so bland. I mean what the first game lacked in unique environments and shit it made up for with a lot of varied quests/decisions where I was all like :3333 when I saw the consequences in this one. I can not really think of any quests that would have a similar outcome in 3 outside of maybe Liara/Shadowbroker? Also, while overall the ME1->2 connections were great, some where just awful imo. Liara seemed completely out of character from who she was in 1, and Conrad Verner was way too big of a douche considering I took paragon with him. Oh and niggas being all shocked when I killed a thresher maw was lolworthy considering how many Wrex and I offed in 1.

Oh and is there any way to meet up with Emily Wong at the Citadel? I was so happy when she emailed me and then couldnt find her
