Is it just me or do ally weapons just plain not overheat? I used Liara/Tali for most everything, and they kinda sucked with everyone but pistols if you max out their non-combat powers so I just loaded them up with high explosive rounds and they were able to fire significantly more rounds using the pistol than I was able to.
True lol, then again I like pistols. With Scram rails mods and what not I one and double shot with the best of them, even with my little pistol.
Yeah alliance weapons are the shit, I found alot of the damping and cool down mods for the Assault rifle and shotgun respectively cut down drastically on overheating. If you dont have it leveled though then accuracy will suffer greatly.
There were quite a few things I didn't like about Mass Effect, but i played through it and ended up enjoying it. The story was good and all of the characters were pretty enjoyable. I didn't care much for the combat system, and Mass Effect has one of the worst inventory systems...ever, but despite those flaws, it was solid. Unfortunately, I can't really tell if those two things were worked on very much. I assume at least the inventory system got revamped. Eagerly awaiting a demo or something :D
Fuck a demo, im all up in that shit.
didn't they fix the inventory/mod system in the PC version of ME1? I'd assume that at the very least they'd keep that old system, if not make it better.
All this ME talk is making me want to replay a Bioware RPG, I've never played NWN and I don't remember most of KOTOR2 so maybe one of those ;o
Anyone ever get the free DLC for KOTOR1?
If they already revamped the inventory system, excellent. Just make my teammate A.I. less revolting in combat and maybe touch combat/sidequests/whatever the hell that tank thing was up a bit and I'm sold!
And I just played KoTOR 1 and 2 before starting my Rune Factory excursion. I didn't really like 1 as much as I thought I would after all the online praise in places like NeoGaf, but 2 was fantastic. You really can't go wrong with either that or NWN though. Making me want to start that up again, but Rune Factory is calling...
Sorry, the "You are possibly the chosen one maybe, let's revoke like six sacred Jedi laws and you'll magically learn ten years of training in a month" stuff when you got to Datooine was a bit more than I could handle, and while it did get better, it never really recovered from that imo. The first planet was so good, so it was a real letdown for me. 2's backstory (and the twists) were just infinitely more satisfying and engrossing, and I liked the main character leveling revamps more. I'm still up in the air on which had the better support characters though.
Why do games take forever to make? FML
Apparently the collector's edition of dragon age unlocks an exclusive item in ME2.
Mass Effect Might Go To Fourth Game, Then Infinity, Then Beyond - mass effect 2 - Kotaku
Speaking with Gamerzines, BioWare's Greg Zeschuk has said "We've said Mass Effect is supposed to be a trilogy, so you're going to see at least a third Mass Effect, and even more if everything goes well."
So, how many good ones can they crank out before the series goes to shit?
I really hope they wrap up the main plot arc by the end of the third game, any more than that will just be gravy so long as the story is interesting.
They don't even have to change the combat/inventory much, like Ratchet & Clank it's either adequate enough for several sequels or close enough to perfection that only minor changes will keep it going.
I'd rather have 3 games with craploads of $10 DLC than 5 games that take 10 years to tell the same story, I guess. But yea, in terms of original IPs for Bioware this one is pretty solid, you can probably expect a whole host of ME and (assuming it does well, which it probably will) Dragon Age spinoffs/sequels for a long time.
If that's the real artwork it's incredibly lame compared to the first.
Mass Effect 2 Box Art Stares Right Back At You - mass effect 2 - Kotaku
says it is, and I agree with you
I think they are doing that on purpose. Sorta like the old Sci-Fi/Fantasy movie posters from the 70s/80s (Star Wars being the biggest example)
I just think it looks cheesy, and not the good bruce campbell kind of cheesy.
