That is weird, especially for this game. I don't think I've ever found a glitch in a MGS game, but I'm sure they're in there.

How the fuck do you sneak through that first part of Outer Heaven, seriously

I can sneak to the last section where the two Gekko are, but at that point it's basically a few smartly placed grenades and then a mad dash for the door

Holy shit! It's that part? I haven't played since summer so I don't remember the names of the areas, but how in the hell do you sneak through that part?? That was the one part of the game that took me a shit load of retries.

Without getting too deep, so we don't spoil, I have no idea how you can NOT be seen before getting through the port door.

    For last section:

Gekko's can be tranq'd if you shoot them enough in the legs and so can Haven troopers.

Simply put, MK22 is far too overpowered and better than any other weapon in MGS4.

In fact, I think it's my biggest complaint with the game.

Before heading to open the door, just remember to tranq the sniper on the roof above.

Resistance is awesome. Do you have another console? There are a few really good multi-plats you can play.
Ya, I have a 360 so I was thinking of exclusive games for the ps3. I'm also not the type to play for 5+ hours a day so I probably won't look at any long rpg style games.

    Regarding Outer Heaven:

    Spoiler: show
I always try to sneak through the right side of the boat since there are more shadows there. Everything is rather easy and straight forward until the Gekkos. There is a nice little trick to this though.

After you have knocked out all the guards, just lie down in place in the shadows off to the side of the Gekkos. Eventually, a missile will come down and strike one of the patrolling Gekkos, getting the attention of the second one. The second Gekko will go investigate, and once it does, that leaves an opening for you to make an easy dash to the door without being spotted.

This sequence, iirc, will repeat, but I do remember for sure that the sequence triggers once you actually get there. So don't worry about getting there at a certain time. Just be patient, and a missile will eventually provide the diversion you need.

I don't think I ever stuck around long enough to see the missile attacks. That would make it waaaaaay easier, because the guards are not the problem, the Gekkos are.

When I made it past that part, I ran down the left side of the area. I stealth killed the 1-2 guards (iirc) and then I waited for an opening (everyone turned) then dashed out and lobbed a shit ton of grenades before turning the valve on the door and fleeing down the hall.

    Your way sounds better. lol

First time I beat that section, I did something similar. In thinking "there must be a better way", I checked out a guide, /facepalmed, and I'll be damned if it didn't make that section 1000 times easier lol.

lol! I thought the *exact* same thing after dying 10 times. "There has GOT to be a better way!... I know I'm missing something....". It was more annoying because the last checkpoint was right when you first board, so I became a pro at getting up to that part. I don't think I got stuck anywhere else for more than a couple minutes.

I don't know whether to call this stupid or brilliant...like everybody else it was just the Gekko that made it hard, lol

I'm sorry, but all of that takes way to long. That part of OH shouldn't take more then a minute. Going to the right itself takes way to long.

All of my tips are mostly for The Boss Extreme, which of course can go for lesser levels as well. If you want to go for a speed run try to get The Boss Extreme done in under 2 hours.

Run to the left on OH, for the most part, the guards that jump down will just miss you. And if you actually run right out infront of the Gekko that normally explodes if you wait, he will explode right away, thus you don't have to wait what so ever.

I just noticed that explaining it is hard...but that part is one of the quickest parts of the game.
