    Ubuntu Linux, wireless adapters, WoW.

I'm having some issues with Windows, which I think is basically a build up a lot of things, and so I'm looking into Linux again. I used Red Hat for a couple years while taking some programming courses so I have basic experience, but I'm having issues.

I installed Ubuntu onto a partition and it works fine, however I cannot get my wireless connection to work. I have to install software in Windows to get it to work on a Windows install and the cd does not work in Linux, nor is a copy of the files (I have 3 partitions atm, 1 is Windows install, 1 is Linux install, 1 is just a ntfs partition with data on it, like music/anime/etc.) I used windows to copy the cd files and that didn't work either. The wireless adapter is directly from my ISP, Verizon.

Are there any commands I need to use to get the driver/app to install and get my internet to work in Linux? Should I get another wireless adapter? Any other tips for using Linux? I want to eventually use Linux and only Linux if possible and for that I pretty much just need internet access and WoW to work, anyone have this working and able to help me set it up?

Here is a list of wireless cards supported, and how to determine what type of chipset you have. If your card isn't supported, it's unfortunately not going to work unless the manufacturer comes out with Linux drivers (not likely),

An alternative to this is to get a wireless bridge, which you configure seperately, and then run a cat5 from the bridge to your system. Ubuntu doesn't need any drivers to use it, and you'll still be on your wireless network.

can also check ebay or your local computer store for an el-cheapo wireless adapter on the list. often times i find you can find one for far less than a wireless bridge, but if cost is less of an issue, the bridge will be easier.
