    SCNM: The Blood-Bathed Crown (Strategies)

Just finished off the first set for my LS.

Wondering which setup would be the best for this SCNM?

I was thinking along the lines of,

    Tank pt:
    PLD
    PLD
    WHM
    RDM
    BRD
    (COR or RDM)

    Melee/Adds:
    SAM
    (2nd DD)
    (3rd DD)
    BRD
    RDM
    WHM

    BLM PT:
    BLM
    BLM
    BRD
    BLM
    RDM
    (misc)

My group's method is RNG/BLM burning with a few melee. For the fight we start with myself (Tarudin) running in and aggroing, not claiming, and begin kiting around the circular arena. Works well with us since cures won't give any hate casted on me. The other paladin picks off the WARs first to be killed then RNGs.

After adds dead, everyone moves into specific locations. The mages stay in the tunnel that leads into the arena, rangers near the small tunnel if you continue right, and the two paladins in the middle, but not together. Veil of chaos sometimes causes trouble if both tanks hit which is why we keep them split. The paladins can simply bounce him, rangers and blms can start damaging, when aura goes down the front line melees go in and push him down.

Easy fight done this way, maybe 15-20 minutes. Others have told me they hold one of the adds until the main boss is dead, supposedly preventing veil until 25% of his HP. This didn't work for us so we've kept to this strategy.

Here is a quick image made to clarify the positioning.

Did this BC a ton of times. Setup we use is:

PLD, PLD, PLD, WHM, RDM, BRD
    WHM, DDs
    BLMs

Easily done with 12. Take more people if you have them.

1 PLD straight tanks the big guy, 1 takes the WARs, 1 takes the RNG. Kill off the adds then work on the big guy. Only let melee hit it when its Aura is down, let BLMs blow him up rest of the time. This BC is zzzz.

So far 6 hats and 4 earrings and another couple sets ready to pop this week. Need to finish the Hat list so we can move on to Beaudeux ~.~

You can take RNGs in place of BLMs.

Last time we ended up doing 3 of the fights in a row. We took 2 BRDs, 2PLDs, 1-2 BLM, 1 RDM, 1 SCH, 1 WAR, 1 SAM and 4-5 RNGs. I think we may have had one more healer but I forget if it was SCH or a WHM.

The way we do this SCBC and "The Buried God" is pretty much the same way with the same set ups. Only difference in the Buried God is you need petra because of AoE Stona.

The reason for 2 PLD's is for the adds. 1 PLD will agroo all 5 mobs and the 2nd will flash the PLDNM and kite it while a WAR picks off adds 1 at a time while healers drop cures on the Super tank PLD.

You will all 4 adds and then do the PLD, once aura drops the fight picks up, the hardest part of this fight is simply dropping the aura.

    10 man can kill it

    PLD
    WAR or PLD
    RDM
    RDM/NIN
    WHM
    BRD

    BLM
    BLM
    BLM
    BLM

rdm/NIN poison and bio claiming the 2 rng and bring to the runway u start from(yes you should know how rng mobs work by now, so a RDM/NIN can easily stand there casting utsusemi all over)

PLD kite mega around the house, with the other rdm support(can bio + poison too for free DOTs)

the war or pld, will be incharge of claiming the other 1 pet and BLM can blow them up, as for the last pet, what we did was let the bard cast elegy on it and tank for like 10 sec? WHM is there to cure the PLD or WAR and the bard.

after which, you blow the other 3 pets 1 by 1, rest, blow mega up, and win

    thats just my strategy because i didnt really find that many people to perma this, because i dont wanna do this 9816821736 times ^^;

The only thing that's bad about this BC if it gets spammy toward the end and find a certain mage in the backline particularly enticing for the split second he wants to feast on your fear.

    500-600~

1 move isn't too bad, but once at 10% or lower, he just start spamming the fucking thing like 2-3x+ in a row sometime, which would pretty much kill anyone within the AoE range that doesn't have a dedicated healer covering their ass.

And when the said dedicated healer is part of the people within 20', it's fun time for everyone.

Like other posters have said, it's not too hard. Dealing with the NM's stupid AoE is the only annoying part.

Here's the plan my group used.. we went in with 14 I think -

-PLD held the NM with support
-NIN/RDM held both RNG, no support needed except haste
-DD/nins and BLMs zerged down the WARS
-BLMs and ranged DDs beat up on NM until the aura went away (this was the hardest part of the fight IMO)
-when aura fell, everyone ran in and zerged it
-Mopped up the rangers, and win!

We did two runs last night in about 12 minutes each. The aura needs to come off asap, I am not sure exactly what triggers this, but it seems to be just damage. Yuki > Sidewinder > Frag + 4 Thunder volleys is a good start, typically goes away after a few more nukes WSs. At that point, we typically kill it before it even puts the aura back up again.

If you have RNGs, Veil of Chaos is no problem. Use the most broken ability in the game to your advantage, Shadowbind. PLD regains hate and continues.

After you break down the aura through damage, another use of veil of chaos would put it back up.

The good news is, after you broke down the aura, it'd enter like a decent amount of time period where it won't use the veil of chaos.

the first 25ish%, where the aura is up, is the toughest part of the fight. after that..........KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL before aura is back again.

I've got 2 sets ready to go for this fight (Bst owns La Vaule lol) and was wondering if wiki is correct with its drop rates/groups and what the average gil drops add up to if anything lol. Hopefully I can spur my LS into helping with these with promises of little work and easy rewards.

None of the NM in the 3 BC can use their special move if aura is down. Some combination of damage and time seems to remove it.. when it is down kill it before it puts it back up.
