We use Sprint Mobile Broadband cards at work, they are pretty decent for what they are. They get pretty decent coverage across the US, but I'm not sure about Hawaii, you'd have to check about that. It's 100/month for unlimited data, but I think that's a business plan.. so it may vary for you.

Is it truly unlimited data, or will they complain if you start torrenting 24/7 on your mobile broadband?

at&t is giving me unlimited, and military discount. $53/month, but $58/month to protect against theft.

some friends said that the guy screwed me over, i went back, spoke to the guy, and he put my number in the PC, it said GOVERNUNLIMITED.

i'd say just tell them you're in the military and you use internet alot, they'd prolly hook you up. if not, i can get you this guys #

If you can torrent on a 10/kbps connection, more power to you These things aren't fast enough to use for anything more net-intensive than e-mail or web browsing, in my experience.

I get around 100-120KB/sec down on my Verizon card, slightly slower your average T1, YMMV.

Maybe its Sprint and/or my area then, cause whenever I use one it's always super slow.

So what's a good internet solution for somebody who moves every so often, that gets high broadband speeds? Something a military guy on-the-go can use to torrent or do other bandwidth-intensive stuff?

While I can't recommend it for the OP because it's a regional carrier with little coverage outside the midwest, we have 3Mbps CDMA wireless internet at work, and it's pretty damn good. Feels just like DSL, except for the relatively rare signal drops. If you can find a similar service that offers real unlimited service, it would definitely do the job.

Verizon is about 59$ a month 5GB cap and about 1MB down but specifically mentions P2P stuff is against the TOS, not that 5GB really gets you very far.

Sat Internet can get super pricey (starts around 69$ a month for the same speeds), I'd say just play it by ear when going from place to place and seeing whats available.

Maybe you can get perpetual promo packagages. Sign up for X$-for-a-year plan, then when you move, get another promo at another provider. Or maybe even the same provider, since you'll have a different address, state, and everything.
