Wow... never thought I'd see this name again. I'm one of the sacks for Tactics. This is probably the one person I can credit with making me hate playing WHM. He does know his jobs (from what I remember), but he is very arrogant and forceful when you don't do things his way. He was always very "me first" (running around at Kirin screaming in LS "OMG POISONA ME 1000/1300!!!!!" etc). He seemed to have a hard time accepting the results of his actions and usually blamed mistakes on the other players present, primarily the healers ("Why didn't you cure him?!?! WTF were you doing?!?! Why aren't you doing your job?!" etc).

As for reliable... I remember one KB camp early in shell history that he wouldn't come to because we didn't have an exact TOD and he'd "just got this awesome JP PT and those are sooooooo much better than NA PTs." He did attend most events (though sometimes we wished he didn't).

And honest... I can say that I never actually knew him to steal anything, but his attitude and character left something to be desired.

his gear's not particularly stellar.

This is because many years ago he quit, gave away a bunch of gear, then deleted his char. Then he decided to come back awhile later (months? year? I don't remember for sure.) After he returned, he started asking for his gear back from the people he'd given it to, namely the Osode he'd given to the in-game wife of a friend of his. The leaders of the shell told her to keep it, because he'd been gone so long and because he'd refused to give it to the next person on the Osode list. I don't recall us giving him another one, but I could be wrong. I remember him saying a bunch of his rare/ex stuff was missing, and I'm not sure if SE did any kind of recovery to get it back.

He eventually left Tactics in anger shortly after his return because we refused to let him lot another Genbu's Kabuto over another player that had put in much more effort recently than Brackis had.

I know my post count is painfully low; I'm a lurker, not a poster (usually). I expect this post to be completely ignored by a lot of people because of that. As long as Brackis never returns to Unicorn, I'll be a happy mage.

I havent seen your name in forever Quedari. If memory serves(and god this would be along time ago), I got into it with you about the way you where playing your job. Maybe i was one of the kirin tanks and you weren't doing anything or something, but hey i'm sorry about that. Getting mad over something like that was definetly a sign of having been playing way too long. I remember i even started comming to events as rdm to try and fix problems of someone who was slacking off.

As far as gear goes-i never asked anyone if i could have back what id given out-gil/osede/flame ring. It really wasnt that big of a deal. There was alot of gear however that wasnt restored the first time-and it happened again when i came back on the return home to vanadiel(This being why i kept everything that would be hard to replace(Joyeuse) in my inventory rather than locker/house). And, i did leave the shell after the genbu deal-i dont even remember the player's name, but he had less points, and was just a good friend of the leader. Besides, i was already sick of this game-was going straight to WoW anyway.

I wasnt an angel by any means, but i wasnt a complete devil that youve kinda made me out to be. Sure i ripped on you, but that is my humor. Had i had vent at that time you would certainly have heard otherwise. :D

From the reputation in get about him in Tactics, his attitude wasn't the best of anyone. Hence the reason Genbu's kabuto has been renamed to "Brackis bucket" within our linkshell. (And why isn't his PLD listed as a 75 job?) TBH, I don't think there should be any reason why another player should "get into" another player for how they were playing that particular job, unless they have had it leveled up to the same level. And ripping on others is not an acceptable type of humor.

I don't know much of him, but I remember joining an xp pt with him a long long time ago and him being a real dick, and getting mad my Ranger was ripping hate off his Paladin, he even told me if I was going to continue to make him look stupid he'd make sure I died lol.

Uh, my paladin is level 10. Birkett has a 75 paladin-not me. And tactics wasnt a "Proper uptight" linkshell either. Ripping on someone for when they play bad wasnt looked down on.

tactics wasn't the kinda shell where it was really looked up upon to make fun of each other in the way i've been told you acted dude...i mean unless your name is lovett then game on...(<3)

i've heard many stories about you from just about every sack (before i joined tactics, while i was in there, and even after i left) about how brackis would flip out. i remember partying with him ages and ages ago but nothing stellar comes to mind at all.

still if he is the reason que hates whm then it can't be good cause that was her original job when she started playing and she outright refuses to touch that job because of brackis (lol whm to salvage que can i has it? :D)

but please..by all means take him...and his bucket...

Demitrius here, ancient RDM of yore from Unicorn and former member of Tactics LS. I have an account, a few hundred posts, etc. Spent three days figuring out why I couldn't get my password here reset. Eventually decided this post was worth making a new one.

Brackis. Where in the hell do I begin. For a lack of any other place to start that can be easily substantiated, the

2005 Ballista Tournament results

are an amazing place to start. He managed to put off most of the opposing team with his ridiculous behavior, as well as his own team. The guy managed to get all the way to the finals, only to embarrass his entire server with his pathetic and childish actions. I must mention that the "Brackis Bucket" incident happened at least two years ago at this point, and the fact that it's so ingrained into Tactics years after I left the game stands as a monument to just how much of an ass Brackis was able to make of himself.

With that in mind, let us continue. My first experience ever speaking with him was a lovely conversation he began with me in late 2005 over a recent rise in Haubergeon prices. Quite simply, I'd just hit the point where I could 11-tier HQ the damn things, and I made a bunch. In the time I spent selling them over the next couple of weeks, nobody else was selling, so I raised the price gradually from about 3M to 3.4M (wow, it's sad that I still remember this stuff, lol). If memory serves, my good man Brackis either bought the last one, or was too slow to buy the last one I had up. Either way, he spent a good bit calling me names for "price gouging." I'd never spoken to the guy before. It was a pretty amazing lack of understanding of basic capitalist principles, and was a sign of things to come.

Unfortunately, regardless of my reputation, sometimes I was too nice. Figuring that it takes an ass like me to see the positives in one of my own, I felt there had to be something beneath that exterior that could be useful. After refusing to allow him into a Dynamis I was leading, I spoke to him later and found him to be a little more forthcoming than before. So much so that I extended an offer to try out the LS a short time later, and he accepted. Things went well for a bit, and then... the Brackis train ran us over, and it wasn't pretty. The guy was great with ultimatums and a constant high-and-mighty attitude. No matter what you said, if this guy felt like he had some kind of leg to stand on, even an imaginary one, he would n-e-v-e-r let up.

Eventually, he quit, which would have been just dandy if it had stuck. I don't remember if it's because I yelled at him one too many times following one of his tirades, but the next thing I remember is him roaring back in a few months later demanding his gear back, oh damn I got hacked, I mean I threw it all out, but we're a bunch of selfish jerkoffs for not getting him new stuff, etc. I'm not surprised that he forever scarred people like Quedari that were there mostly to help people out and have fun. The fact that he's already come in here with fists flying proves my point before it's even said. Mr. Brackis here always had to turn everything into a competition, He was that rare, truly thick-headed type that would gloat about winning anything he perceived as a competition, whether or not it was supposed to be. Friendly teamwork didn't exist for the guy. This guy did endgame stuff, but I wouldn't call it PvE. He didn't even do what normal people would call PvP. He only did all-out war, in every aspect of his daily game life. Any number of psychologists would have a field day doing a dissertation on this guy. I can't even begin to fathom the neuroses involved.

I tried to reach out to him more times than most people, and I had a limb chopped off each time I tried. On the surface, the guy varies from a solid player to a malevolent dickhead. But getting to know him makes it that much worse. If you enjoy having your healers throw down their staves over a smartass lolWAR with an ego the size of a small galaxy, be my guest. I wish I could be wrong on this, but the only thing I've ever been wrong about with him is believing he could be a civilized human being. He may be okay for a little while. A few weeks or months down the road, he'll give you the same Brackis treatment he's become notorious for.

There's a billion people out there that can kite or swing an axe. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and find one that has a shred of dignity or honor, because it's a shred more than this guy will ever have. Best of luck.

Wow you really put a lot of thought into that post. For starters, I never joined tactics becuse you where a nice guy or because i liked you. I joined for tunns and bluie. Remember, my friends from a shell we where in before? I was known and like for talking smack-that was what i always did. If you took it personally-it was never meant to be, but enough on that. i never really liked being in tactics-but if it was the only way i could chill with my friends, then alright. But i never changed off on how i acted either.

Did i show up for all events when i was online? Yes
Did i ever steal anything from the linkshell? No
Was i well liked within the shell? No, Did i really care? No-i liked the friends i had.
Do i know how to play the jobs that i log in as? Yes

I never once called anyone selfish for keeping the few things i actually gave out. Nor did i badger anyone for a damn thing when i came back. Exargerating on a point to make it seem worse about something from 2 years ago seems a little stupid doesnt it? If you really took what i said seriously, or out of context-maybe you have been playing too long. Bottom line is-I have been playing WoW for the last 2 years. I dont take this game or any too seriously anymore. I no longer do PVP at all-it really does suck balls(even on a server that still brags it has good pvp)-and it sucked balls back then too.

Bottom line is desan-It costs me 30$ + my time to transfer to your server and join your linkshell. It doesnt cost you anything. So, if you want to give me a shot-i can show you that im just fine to have around. And if in a couple of months i turn into a complete dickhead like demitrius is predicting-you could always boot me and that be the end of it.
