    Berserker's Torque for x-hit builds

    How practical is it to wear a Berserker's Torque for 1 or 2 tics to get a 6-hit build on a weapon you normally couldn't? I personally think it's worth the 50-100HP if it means you can use a better DPS weapon and maintain the WS frequency. Looking for opinions from melee DD's and meripo healers.

    There are far better options. B.torque is just dumb any way you slice your wrist by wearing it. A 6hit build is pretty easy to obtain nowadays.

    If you can macro something like this in xp party the whole time, more power to you. In reality, it won't change much and will give you headache. If you want to win on a parser, just engage faster and keep it down to tp/ws macro.

    From a healer perspective, it's probably not that bad, but macro accident will happen occasionally, and losing an additional 200-300hp might not be worth it

    So basically it's too error prone and isn't much better than using a bigger delay weapon?

    It's for waking yourself up when you happen to get sleepga-ed with weapon already drawn (at least I believe this works).

    This is actually not a bad idea honestly. For ppl who have been pushing for a 6 hit build like myself, this can actually open up alot of gear options for me.

    Maybe it is just me, but as a drk, I tp with +23 STP and ws with +22 STP on a 501 delay weapon for a 6 hit build (using Naglering so the WS is one hit). Ideally, I will want to tp and ws in +21 STP (rajas, /sam, brutal), and not having to use chiv. chain over prudence torque and ech. ring over toreador's or ulth. ring on tp, and attilas earring over triumph's or assault for ws. But with 21 STP for both ws and tp, I will end up having 98.4% tp and that will break my 6 hit build.

    Sub in berserker's torque for 2 ticks for 100 HP will allow me to gain about 4-5 accuracy (I consider 3 str and 7 attack equal, comparing chiv to prudence), and perhaps 1% ws damage. Worth the HP or not is depended on ppl.

    Note that depending on being hit by mob and meditate, you might not even have to use it at all for maybe 33% of your ws. Making the cost even less. Interesting nontheless.

    A general comment: stop putting the 6-hit build on a pedestal. It's retarded to see people sacrifice so much haste that they would've gotten faster TP and the extra damage from a melee swing if they hadn't.

    No, healers are not going to like you if you use berserker's torque.

    Except that a very large portion of two-handed damage comes from weapon skills. Dark Knight, Dragoon, Samurai, and Warrior can all achieve 6-hit builds without crossing this 'I'm losing too much haste' threshold you seem to be imagining.

    You could set up Windower's Spellcast plugin to probably do this for you. For example, you could have it macro in until a certain % of your HP has been consumed or until your TP is 100. Whichever is first. It's not that terrible of an idea if you have it done automatically. If you do this manually in anyway its a headache, and you'll feel retarded after about an hour.

    I personally have Spellcast do lots of strange things for me such as macro in Amardillo pants for Amnesia and macro back in my standard piece when it wears.

    You'd want your XML to include parameters like
    Code:
                <if TPLT="100">
                         <if HPGT="76">
    				<action Type="Equip">
    					<neck>Berserker's Torque</neck>
    				</action>
                         </if>
                         <elseif HPLT="76">
    				<action Type="Equip">
    					<neck>Fortitude Torque</neck>
    				</action>
                         </elseif>
                         <else>
    				<action Type="Equip">
    					<neck>Fortitude Torque</neck>
    				</action>

                         </else>
                </if>
    Keep in mind I'm sorta just winging this. You actually gotta do some work to set this up. No, I really wouldn't have time to do it for you, so please don't ask. I'm surprised I took the time to type all that. Looking at it now, I could definitely condense it even more.

    Because you don't want to wear this longer than you have to, I'd also suggest setting it up to require you to be engaged in battle. If you go about it just right, you could probably get by with a Regen 2 or a Regen III, providing you aren't taking any damage. If you keep the HP% siphon limit above 75%, your HP will stay white unless you take damage from directly getting attacked. This should prevent your mages from being annoyed. However, if you are "just above" yellow, then they probably won't cure you as long as your HP is white, so you migth want to set it to 74% to force them to have an interest in giving you enough HP to siphon out for more TP.

    Yea, it is all depended on situation and your build. 4 accuarcy for a 6 hit build in my case isn't a bad sacrifice, you just have to do the math on your own and decide what its worth.

    If you are constantly at 98% tp and there isn't any other option in gear to give you 100% in let's say 6 hits including ws, then using berserker's torque isn't that bad of an idea. Mages will probably hate you, but the longer the mob lasts the more chance of someone getting hit by mob. So if you get that 2% tp from berserker's torque for 100 HP to finish the mob 2 sec faster, I don't see how it is that bad of a deal consider a pecking flurry move can hit a melee for 400 damage easily.

    You just have to pick your poison. Obviously if you have a natural 6 hit build you don't need any of this.

    On WAR you can get 6hit builds from +22 sTP (504 delay) which you don't need to sacrifice haste for, in a case like that I think it's very pedestal worthy since you gain a lot for a little. I agree in principal with what you're saying but I have a serious question: Going from 7 to 6 hits cuts down time to ws by 1/6th, right? Isn't that worth at least SOME haste sacrifices?

    Yep, it is. However, since 2-handers have access to hasso, they get more out of haste than other melee. Just do the math per situation depending on buffs and if you can fulltime hasso.

    Most 2-handed jobs can pull a 6hit build with /sam rajas,brutal; drg with aurum/askar body, sam with full merits is only job i see sacrificing haste with hachiman instead dusk gloves that if sam doesn't have usu feets.

    Considering most war weapons have 504 delay (perdu), drk weapons go from 501-528 delay (perdu-tredecim), drg weapons have 492 delay (thala and fork).

    Yeah it's not hard for most jobs to do it, but my main gripe is about like, SAM who go for a 6-hit without rajas and merits or people who sacrifice some gear slots to have a 6-hit build assuming one WS hit lands ('true' 6-hit)... when they have a 4-hit WS or so. It's just... bad in those cases.

    Do you guys suggest even attempting a 6-hit on WAR without having Rajas ring? I needed Tamas for BLM

    Depending on your hitrate you could TP in askar korazin but I really wouldn't recommend that in a lot of cases over haubergeon+1.

    Hmm that's interesting, first question why do you need tamas on blm, if you can your war will win more from rajas than your blm from tamas, without rajas you could do chiv. chain stp+1, white tathlum stp+2,ecphoria stp+1 and still need 2/3 hits from RR or KJ to land or use a body like aurum/askar, in short better get rajas, other alternatives gimp you too much imo.
