afk moving to Canada.
Never let a good Crisis go to waste.
Adding Bureaucracy to Medicine and Banking is definitely the way to go, I mean look has much it has done for education.
If people couldn't detect the sarcasm in my post, I think they are the ones who need the help you're thinking of.
I'd watch your calling of people who agree with you a dipshit. By your logic, that makes you a dipshit too. When the citizens have the right to elect representatives to vote for them on social measures this is democratic. By this dipshits logic above, we shouldn't have our socialized police force paid for by taxpayers because some slut decided to wear a skirt and got raped, or some anti-gun prick didn't buy a gun and was robbed.
You just take that ball and run with it, don't you? And I'm ignorant? My girlfriend is full-blooded Russian you fucking idiot. I don't even watch the news. The irony is we can't rely on average Americans to weigh in these topics because of the ignorance of the post above and people having no idea of what social concepts are other than Fox News tells them Russia is bad, buy Amurrrrrrrikkkan.
Which is why I prefaced my post the way I did. I'm sorry you're butthurt your reading comprehension didn't catch that.
Hey, your girlfriend is Russian? I have a blue shirt, it still doesn't mean I understand how the dye was made.
Here, these are for you and your overreaction:

Because obviously I find nothing wrong with how our economy currently works, I said how we have it now is perfect, right? Oh, wait, I didn't. I have many issues with how our economy is working now, but I believe a lot of it to be a problem made from Americans being lazy and not caring at all.
Socialism can work, and I commend places like Sweden where it works well. However, the "American dream" and american lifestyle is based on capitalism and we're also the current #1 superpower and I think capitalism helps us to retain that title and be "the best". We're weakening now, but that's because of a number of issues not related to economic theory and based more on other things.
Sweden never has been anything and most likely won't be anything, aside from being the poster child of socialism. It's an entirely different place than the US and I don't think we can get things that work there to work here.
I'm all for socialism. While some people say you need to "earn" your healthcare, capitalism is was caused that pill you have to buy to be 60 dollars a bottle vs. 4 dollars. A lot of it is purely jacked up prices because they know people will pay for it.
I hate capitalism. It endorses survival of the fittest and a sense of not giving a fuck about anyone else. And I just am not that kind of person. :/
I hope your arguments aren't as retarded as your logic and use of analogies is.
Honestly, nationalization of the banks would only be temporary, and if all goes as planned, the government would make profit, and be able to pay off a nice chunk of debt with interest. The next step in all of this should be to repel the bush tax cuts, as they were the most detrimental thing to happen to the US budget, we went from surplus to deficit overnight, then continued to spend out our asses. They were reaganomics 101 and is fell on its face. It doesn't work, and people need to get over it.
Honestly, some socialization is a GOOD thing, as government and business and check each other, and it works brilliantly. Financial anarchy, which what these "free-market" advocates shout and tout, has already shown it's results. A hyper-inflated market that spends any credit or spare cash an economy has, goes well beyond it, and deflates tremendously. And folks; this is what we are experiencing right now, which is catastrophic deflation, and it seems to have a while to go still. The big thing right now is to create jobs, and a little extra pocket money over time, which is what the stimulus pretty much is going to do in the end. My only issue with this, is that these bonds are not ones we owe to ourselves, but other countries. Meaning we need to get off our asses, and help ourselves, so we make these bonds worth something, and let those who hold them profit as well.
I would go into this more but... I need to run off to work.
I remember hearing about how the tollways in IL would only be temporary as well. In the 70s.
That's odd, I always thought of you as the young attractive type.
Currently, the Average Canadian works from January to June to pay taxes, if you were to have all tax dollars paid before any other income.
It's not much better in America.
Oh I forgot, running and being part of a country is about being "the best," like running a linkshell. We have to have the best bots so we can claim a country quicker and win phat loots.
I forgot this was our national anthem:
YouTube - You're The Best Music Video
Right now we live in a top-down socialist society. Some "fat fuck" baby boomers were handed empires and given multiple shots at running banks and corporations. When they fail they get paid a couple mil to just walk away. Initially this only effected the shareholders, now they get the same treatment but the taxpayers get to pay for it.
Why do they get the opportunity to fuck up and make bad choices that effect millions, yet you're worried about some overweight prick that's effecting himself. You also realize part of nationalized medicine also means prevention and education to save the taxpayer money right? Pharmaceutical and health insurance companies want us to be unhealthy. This way they can overcharge us for ineffective drugs and make us pay for insurance in which they will refuse service.
This means less money flooding into the market for products, and a total decline of the capitalism you're defending. In the end what you're arguing for is more money to the top 10% and less money and reassurance for people like you and me. For this I pity you, and this is why I favor socialist ideals.
I don't get why people fucking bitch about moving to socialized medicine, you do realize we spend more money per capita on healthcare then any of the socialized Western European countries and Japan, yet we have the worst fucking healthcare per capita out of all of them? The biggest argument that I see against universal healthcare is why should 300million ppl pay for the unhealthy choices of 1 person. This argument is bullshit since often the most expensive procedures are performed on people who could not afford preventative medical care, which results in them only going to the doctor when shit gets really bad, thus resulting in a much more expensive procedure or treatment to cure them. The other case of unhealthy choices comes from our diet/lifestyle, which I think stands the best chance of getting changed if the government is put in charge of the whole system since they have the means to change our diet(telling the Midwest to fuck off w/ its agriculture subsidies, which in the grand scheme of things would result in a more honest free trade policy, which is what you conservatives claim to want anyways), and putting harsher taxes on cigs, which probably isn't even needed short term since Europeans/Japanese ppl smoke more then we do and they are much healthier..(fun fact, average European smoker emits as much greenhouse gases per year as an H2 Hummer)
I also don't get why the fuck everybody still is riding Adam Smith's cock about the invisible hand and all this laissez-faire bullshit when John Nash's theories about cooperation over competition have been pretty much universally accepted for so long, as well as the general international consensus since 1929 being that you need government intervention to prevent bad shit from happening. The whole stimulus/nationalization shit is so fucktarded its not even funny. We waited a few years after our recession in 1929 as did the Japanese during the 1990s and what happened? A 10 year recession. Sweden addressed their problems immediately in the 1990s and their government profited from the nationalization. The democrats never did shit like this during the Bush years, the GOP needs to stop throwing a temper tantrum and get with it, unless they want to go the way of the Whig party(their historical forebearers).
Edit: What are we the best at Eaglestrike? Our per capita healthcare quality? Hmmm. How about our public education system? Well shit, what about income disparity? Most number of prisoners killed per capita? The other fun thing when comparing our countries penis with other ones is to look at some of our neighbors on the lists, like how we have the fewest people who believe in evolution out of all industrialized nations outside of Turkey, or the quality of our healthcare. We need to grow up as a country and acknowledge we are getting left behind in all the true metrics of what makes a society 'best' outside of military size and economy size(not that it matters since China/Saudi Arabia/Dubai own most of it.), by the very European socialized countries that we are supposedly better than.
I can't really draw a line saying I favor one system over the other, because each one has its pros and cons. For instance: In capitalism, there's more support for innovation, since there's more room for specialization, leading to a stronger market and better standing worldwide. But there's also the chance that the market, like you said with the medicine, taking advantage of the consumer.
It seems like this country's government is really just a few steps away from having my ideal setup for an economy really. Banks, health care, education, and things that every person needs should be supported by the government, with everything else being privately owned. That's open to criticism, but things like those listed above just shouldn't be open for exploitation in my opinion.
The context here is hilarious. Allow me to shoot this down:
Canadian and American health care systems compared - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The U.S. spends much more on health care than Canada, both on a per-capita basis and as a percentage of GDP.[5]In 2006, per-capita spending for health care in the U.S. was US$6,714; in Canada, US$3,678.[5] The U.S. spent 15.3% of GDP on health care in that year; Canada spent 10.0%.[5] In 2006, 70% of health care spending in Canada was financed by government, versus 46% in the United States. Total government spending per capita in the U.S. on health care was 23% higher than Canadian government spending, and U.S. government expenditure on health care was just under 83% of total Canadian spending (public and private).[6]
In both Canada and the United States, access to health care can be a problem. Studies suggest that 40% of US citizens and 5% of Canadian citizens lack adequate access to health care.
Pretty significant. Don't mention taxes and leave out private costs so you can fix the data in your favor.
The thing is the government really isn't a few steps away from what you want. If banks are nationalized they will be sold off before 2010 probably or 2012 at the latest, lest they be used as political capital in an election. Similiarly with healthcare Obama's campaign plan kind of sucked relative to the other dem candidates (edwards/hillary) and there are so many entrenched competiting interests in our healthcare system short of mass protests we won't get a true socialiazed model.
The Finesse annoys me. Don't be such an e-tough guy. Try to moderate yourself as to not look like such a jack ass, regardless of how right or wrong you may be.
