    In game time issue

My ingame time is always behind ~40ish sec so I never have the correct time. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix?

People in the same time zone with me when I do /clock have +40 sec of mine time. We call a game time then we both do /clock and it's aways off.

iirc, Earth time when you do /clock is polling your computer, not the server for some obscure reason, the only synchronized clock is the Vana'diel one. If you were both doing NTP updating on your PCs you'd likely see a more accurate result when comparing.

Be careful how you go about using ntp.

With windows 2000, windows time service was pretty much a real ntp client that disciplined your clock into being correct.

When XP came out, windows time service was changed to simply adjust your clock (no matter how large the increment) and that is pretty shitty. I inadvertently speed hacked a few times because of XP's time service and sometimes it would make me go in super slow motion too.

You have to actually install the real ntp client on windows now.. which sucks because it was (basically) already included on windows 2000 :/

Would Vista need the NTP client?

As stated, using the windows "Internet Time" functions can cause some issues, cause it doesn't verify accuracy and sort of works off your CPU clock cycles...so it can be odd. Best to download NIST's client and use that if you want to maintain accurate time information.

my game clock on PS3 runs slow while i'm in a zone, it delays onset of nighttime effects ad everything. when i change areas the clock seems to reset to the server time.
