Only if you don't want 3G and have to rely on wifi everywhere you go. 3G is useful outside of making phone calls

Ah good point the iphone does have the advantage of being able to connect anywhere you get cell reception rather than just at wifi hotspots.

Am I the only one who usually doesn't have time to dick around with anything an iPhone would offer above a normal phone whenever I'm actually out and about? Always just seemed like a cute toy to me for people who are easily distracted. Unless people travel a majority of the time, I just don't see the point.

Get the keyboard. Make quality time with the computer higher quality.

the main purpose of a phone that does more than...phone, is to send and receive proper email. Which the iphone does. But if you don't need it to do that paying a hundred bucks a month for a shiny blinking thing in your pocket is a tremendous waste of money.
