    Partitioning Drive issue

I'm currently in the process of trying to partition my drive but I'm running into a few issues.

I have a 240 GB hard drive, with roughly 100 GB of this being used, but using windows vista it will only let me partition 30GB of this and i cant seem to find a way around it, I'm trying to partition as much as i can right now and 30 GB is not enough.

    Any hints or tips?

Is it trying to create a FAT32 partition? The limit on those is 32GB.

I have the same problem, and sadly I stopped trying before I fixed it.

The problem is that you might have some files at the beginning of the disc(physically) that makes the partion stop right there at 0 instead of finding any spots of free memory.

What I suggest is you try running a defrag to see if it clears up some room. If not then it might be some non-movable system files that can only be moved before windows is booted. You'll need some payed for defraging software in that case, personally I used Perfect Disc 2008. Which has the option to defrag some files before windows starts up.

This is what I did, and sadly I still had some files that were unmovable and lost interest in going any further.

Anyways I suggest you try some defrags. And if it still does not work try to get Perfect Disc 2008 (torrentftw) and do the boot-up defrag.

    Best of luck.
