    Left 4 Dead Dedicated Server question

    For optimal circumstances how much upload speed would be required to host a left 4 dead versus dedicated server?

    As far as I've heard it takes more then TF2 due to the director AI but I'd like to know how much approximately.

    Let me amend your question too while dedicated servers are on my mind:

    Is there a particular reason why my server is accessible via "connect (IP here)" in the console, but a lobby can't connect to it? (Even if a sv_search_key is specified?)

    The whole search key crap is hit or miss in my experience. I've tried that in conjunction with sv_cheats 1; ms_force_dedicated_server "iport"; And neither are a sure fire way to connect to a server via lobby.

    Also if you have sv_search key in your server config the game won't allow any other connections from people who don't have that search key setup as well. IE the only people playing in it are the people who know the search key.
