I always thought Steam was a piece of shit because when my internet would go down on occasion I thought "Lets play some good ol half-life to pass the time" and steam is like CANT BITCH! BECAUSE I CANT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET TO PLAY SINGLE PLAYER! which is fucking stupid.

I guess with all this loving towards steam I should look into it more, all I use it for right now is to play halflife and tfc when I log in and never took another look at it, maybe I should....

The Last Remnant is the best SE franchise they've introduced in 10 years. I can't think of another game where going to every single city was a major event, each with a unique Remnant. The music and OST are phenomenal too. Not to mention, the Conqueror is easily the coolest villain I've ever seen SE introduce. Did you guys even get past half of disc one? I swear, 90% of you just read it's bad and turned your brain off after that, your loss.

Good gameplay, bad story. Absolute conqueror with only one union was fun as heck! The instances were also pretty good.

FFXI is tied to POL. You might be able to buy the game throught Steam but being able to launch from Steam straight into FFXI isn't gonna happen.

Doesen't work with windower iirc anymore, only fullscreen FFXI normally.

Can't afford it..oh well I guess? 39.99 is fucking cheap, look at new xbox 360 and PS3 games. Doesn't matter how old it is, I can still sell off FF Tactics for $200+ to certain collectors and that game is ancient now.

You do know that EverQuest still gets regular updates and expansions to this day, right? That pack you mention comes with all fifteen expansions. A fair price.

If anyone here likes older games, Good Old Games ( GOG.com ) has a nice selection for download, plus they're inexpensive ($5-$10), guaranteed XP/Vista-friendly, and DRM-free. Arx Fatalis and Fallout 1 and 2, also Freespace 1 and 2 for those of us that enjoy space sims *raises hand*.

I've used them for a couple of downloads, not bad at all.

On the space sim front, Freespace 1/2 can be picked up for free at General FreeSpace Discussion.

The fan community has spent the years making a number of high quality mods for the games, they even have their own coding team making improvments to it, can't recommend it enough for you space sim freaks.

Oh and I can't forget to mention the freestanding mod (don't need freespace to play) Btrl (Battlestar Galactica : Beyond the Red Line) found at Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the Red Line - Game Warden Forums.

The game is freaking SWEET, check out the vids on youtube. It won 2008 Mod of the year and has had articles in various magazines including Pop-sci (was part of a build your own viper cockpit).

I just picked it up for the xbox, probably would've waited had it been on steam. (Currently by far the best distribution platform).

Not an XBox user, but how does FFXI tie in through XBox? And besides, POL is an old interface in terms of programming (has to be since PS2 uses it)- Steam being able to hook in should be a snap.

^ this. If they can FFXI up on the Microsoft platform in under 4 1/2 months I don't see why not on Steam.
