MEANING: While if FFXI gets sold through Steam it won't allow for launching straight into FFXI from Steam. You'll still have to go through POL, just like on 360.

I'm REALLY hoping they patch that for 360. You get so many amazing characters, then you can only put in like, 5. I don't want the game to be easier so I hope they adjust difficulty or the stats of leaders beyond 5 just so that you can get to see all of them instead of the carbon copy soldiers.

Can't afford it..oh well I guess? 39.99 is fucking cheap, look at new xbox 360 and PS3 games. Doesn't matter how old it is, I can still sell off FF Tactics for $200+ to certain collectors and that game is ancient now.

FF Tactics is only that price because they don't print them anymore and people still want it. You say it's old yet "collectors" want it, not the same thing is it? You can download the benchmark to get a good idea of how it will run, or the forbidden fruit demo that they pulled from their site for some reason.

Well, not unlimited, but 25, or whatever the max is. Frankly, I couldn't believe it wasn't this way when it was released. Their are a ton of leaders to recruit. Even the generic guild ones all look far superior to the standard Athlum soldiers. Getting to the end of the game and realizing you can't even use them at all without taking out your 4-5 main people was a huge let down for me.

It's the equivalent of playing Final Fantasy VI with only 1 person from your airship and all the rest are generic moogles with lances.

Yeah being able to launch POL from Steam to than launch FFXI would be awesome.

hmm playing the demo now and it's pretty fun so far uses Wasd to move the charecter, but to move camera you can use the directional keys or the movement keys from ffxi, sucky thing is only is adaptable to xbox usb controller....I wonder if it could be modded to use usb logitech ps2 controller. hmmm.

Said the one constantly using 'Fuck' or variation thereof in his post. You can easily compared PS3/360 games to old PC games. If you think 39.99 is expensive even for an old game that usually means you can't afford it, or you're one of those people that thing "better is worth more." Especially considering that's a compilation pack usually, it is indeed a fair price--even without the expansions that's still a fair price because the game may be old but it is still heavily supported, since I'm pretty sure you'd also bitch about people selling 1st-4th generation systems for more than $20, right?

Steam is so hit and miss sometimes.. Some things I will download fast as hell but right now I am downloading the Last Remnants Demo at 20 KB/sec. Going to take awhile to get all 2300MB downloaded at that rate.

You can configure it to use non-xbox controllers and it will show the correct buttons. At least it did for my RumblePad2. Actually this is probably the first game outside of FFXI that I didn't have to hassle to set up the controller for.
