Just depends. I went like 1/48 on Sbow, but this was back when E.Shadow still dropped Ebow. I could have easily gotten a Vbow in that time I'm sure.

I wish he'd pop @ 18 hours for me when I'm camping; I've had several nights of 28+ hour respawn. If I was smart I would've spent all the time I've spent camping the bastard farming to get cash for EBow but now I've got a score to settle and I keep getting my ass beat by the GD fomor.
What is RNG best for at end game
I know..
DI
DL Zerg
Bird exp
Besides those?
Last thread, I promise, just wondering for my future on RNG
There has to be a topic for single questions like this. If only someone could make a thread dedicated to the simple answer questions. They should entitle it: Random Question Thread.
RNG is best at everything as long as they have good hate management. They stay out of AoE range and wreck shit. Lovely combination.
Thank you very much. haha, sorry, more random questions came popping into my head over time.

Here's where I stand.
Valisk pretty much covered it, but to elaborate, rangers are always a good choice agains anything that doesn't flat out reduce ranged damage(bones, wyrms, etc.). As he said, being able to stay out of range of TP attacks is a powerful asset.
and no need to cast haste on them
winner #2
Also take into account TP gain. Mobs with especially bad TP moves are not the best for RNG because ranged attacks have a high delay and thus feed a high amount of TP. Therefore mobs that most melees don't melee are often bad for RNG too just because tanks/mages will hate you.
RNG is awesome on DI for two reasons:
1. Do damage without getting hit by TP attacks
2. Don't feed TP since DI has no TP moves
this rationale is applicable to some other fights as well, e.g. DL, KV (since TP moves are stunned)
if ur setting up gear you should check out FFXIGEAR.com its not complete but gives u a basic idea
If you are Elvaan or galka like me, than E-bow can be an option for you. If you are any other race, stick with Obow. It will outperform everything except for Relics in the long run i've found not only because of Acids, but because of the dps on it.
Forget the Kyudogi. I made myself one (signed) and only wear it in town, because Osode outperforms it.
Crimson are OK, but we (my Relic Gun ranger friend and I) found that Sieryu Kote actually give better bonuses for slugshot (we raised his damage cap on Greater Colibri from 3191 to 3247) by having him use Kote over the crimson hands because he's capped on Att.
The rest looks fine. Obviously Scout belt from qufim or bubu when it drops for you (that thing is sexy, I used precise till I got mine) but aF2 legs and feet are solid.
Also, I loved the quote "If you are going to fafhog as Ranger, you should level another job", because it is SOOOO true. Although, 2x ranger on Wyrm KS99 fight rocks, it lets you do like 7-8 man runs np. Just remember your eye drops.
points were made above already. Anything really where you can stand out of range of TP moves and continue to do damage.
Ranger really excels at DI though (Especially Relic Gun ranger, lol). Screenshots or didn't happen? Ok.

we take like 5-6 rangers to Ixion, and it looks like an infintry batallion behind that horse. But fights only last around 30 minutes, so thats always nice.
I has a question. Whats the highest TP return you get can get with Bow without fucking up your TP gear set?
Xbow too.
Do you even know how to calculate TP given to mob? Monks have just as much subtle blow than NIN and attack at about the same rate (though with higher damage). Not to mention two MNKs providing full time Penance will lower everyone's TP feed to mob. MNKs usually feed TP to mob at about the same rate as they gain TP. And anyways, if you have more than one or two melees on a mob at a time, TP feeding doesn't really matter anyways, since they will always have more than enough TP. Stop propagating old misconceptions.

Not a bad stand. I would get Jalzahn's Ring if you havent finished ToAU missions yet (well if you plan on making rng ur main anyways) :3 Don't sneeze at another behe ring +1 for TP if not, I use Jalza/Behe ring+1 even with relic to tp in.
I go back and forth with af1+1 hat and Helm+1 so w/e works out best for you~
TP Crimson/Blood Hands, WS S.Kote
Legs/Feet/Waist were answered by the fellow below that post~ (Altho I am currently working towards Skadi Legs vs sticking with AF2+1 pants constantly)
All that jazz about Ebow ~ hrmph (do not underestimate the usefulness of acid bolts/holy bolts/obow fun). I was in love with ebow till I shot my first hellfire+1 then I never looked back.
Advice is gewd and opinions help you form your own thoughts and set out to obtain your own experiences -- But its just that our opinions -- What works for us may not work for you :3 Im a strong believer in ask > listen > experiment > learn > success! Figure out what works for you and your rng /nod~
As for your other post -- I use RNG for almost everything and for many of the reasons ppl stated. If you can manage ur hate well its a great DD thats not a mp sink and can pretty much take care of itself (pending certain situations obviously).
Agreeeed and KS99 fun <3
Merged OP's two threads, take advantage of the stickies of this forum.
