Just finished seeing it with a friday and I really dont see why people are hating it so much. It wasn't supposed to be the most amazing movie ever but as a action flick it served its purpose well ;\ dont know what you guys were expecting from it
The fail CGI is because they aren't allowed to to use exploding blood packets or light actors on fire anymore, only stuntmen. Sly also prefers to do as many stunts with actual actors as possible, and use CGI because he hates fake blood. Since the entire movie was a throwback to the 80/90s action era and a slap in the face to 3D/modern CGI, but they could no longer use all of the same techniques, shitty CGI instead of perfectly realistic like Austin on fire was a further slap.
Just saw this. This movie was everything I wanted it to be. Jason Stanthem(sp?) is the man.
Thought this was interesting about JCVD.

too much testosterone
I saw this last night and it was pretty entertaining, though a lot of the dialogue I seriously had to wonder if it was improv'd or just meant to be ironic because it was either awful or just plain nonsensical in context(like the entire Willis/Ahnold/Sly scene). Pretty impressed with some of Stallone's directing though, there were some really, really cool shots in the movie, like when the plane is coming back to dive-bomb the dock and they do that overhead shot over the mountain above the town. The action was pretty well choreographed, and there were some fight matchups that I would have never in my life conceived prior to watching it(like, "who would win a fight between Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren" lol).
Dolph is a fucking psycho.
You motherfuckers had me expecting some seriously terrible CGI. It was nothing that took me out of the movie, it was just meh cgi. Granted, I was drunk. But still, the movie was awesome and I had a great time watching it.
I couldn't enjoy this movie because the dialogue and CGI was just all so terrible. A lot of action scenes were so silly I started cracking up. Seriously, I thought I was watching a bad zombie movie the way people were exploding. They tried too hard to create a cheesy action movie IMO, just went too overboard and ended up nearing parody levels in my eyes. Whole thing was just too damn forced.
Then go watch Eat Pray Love.
Surprised thatSpoiler: show
Horrible movie lol. The fight scenes (as expected) were the only good part about it. The dialoge, story, cgi, etc are all just horrible.. And whats with the love interest bs in this kind of movie?
Well whatever, I dont regret seeing it as like I said the fight scenes, while short and hard to follow, are pretty epic, and really the reason this movie was made anyway. To get big actors together and blow shit up.
So, just bring ear plugs and youll be golden. Whoever wrote/assisted for Terry Crews and Jet Li needs to be shot.
What? Terry Crews role in that movie was fucking awesome!
http://www.hollywoodnews.com/2010/08...dables-sequel/
What the hell is Crews smoking? With the success of ‘The Expendables,’ talks of a sequel are already under way and discussions about who to bring on next time are getting crazy.
In an interview about the possible sequel, Terry Crews knew exactly who he thought would be the perfect fit: “Justin Bieber!” reports MTV. Sounds like Crews has a bit of Bieber fever and wants to add some youth to this successful film as he continued to make his request clear, “I want Justin Bieber.”
Others are going a little more realistically like Dolph Lundgren who wants to add action star Jean-Claude Van Damme to the mix.
Most of the actors hope to return for a sequel, but there always have to be some new people, so maybe Bieber will bring something new to the film.
