The War: Fringe and LOST, is JJ Abrams a genius?

A friend pointed this out to me.

Three weeks ago in the last new Fringe episode, a war was mentioned. In this week's episode of LOST, Widmore tells Locke of an impending War.

Two different shows. Two different channels. However...the creator of the show is the same.

I won't go so far as to infer that you'll see Olivia Dunham on an episode of LOST, or Locke show up on Fringe, but could it possible that LOST and Fringe are part of a bigger JJ Abrams universe, a la the world of FF13?

There's fringe science in both shows which could make this possible.

However unlikely untrue this is...it'd still be fun to discuss.

JJ abraham hasnt done much for Lost in the last few years. he started the show, but it's the other 2 guys (forgot their name) who are writting all the story.

    Most likely a coincidences.

Sure, but JJ could have set up the overall arc, which includes the war.

Both Olivia and Locke are told they are special...

God damn it, if this is so I will have to watch Lost.

And that isn't going to happen!

I believe J.J. Abrams is a big fan of Stephen King and King has been connecting all of his stories to his Dark Tower universe over the past decade. Not unlikely that Abrams is trying to do the same.

Lost is way better than Fringe.

Also Fringe is FOX and Lost is ABC. Not gonna happen.

But on the subject of JJ Abrams bieng a Genius, yeah he is. We know that Cloverfield takes place in the same universe as Lost and Cloverfield was mindblowing.

JJ Abrams wasn't really involved with Lost past the first 2 seasons iirc? And pretty much everything outside of the initial concept (which Lindelof was involved with as well) has been the product of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse the whole man of faith/man of science thing Locke/Jack have going on is supposed to represent both of them. Also, Lost has been hinting at this war for much longer then Fringe has been on the air.

Just wait, next year JJ will have a show on CBS and then finally NBC.

    Then who will be laughing?!

Besides the cute little tie-ins, how do you know that for sure? That's really stretching it. I've seen Bart Simpson in a South Park episode. That doesn't mean anything.

Also, I read the wiki plot spoilers for 'The Dark Tower', and was really disappointed. All of the references to his other books seemed forced, and I would say that other works he has done have much deeper meaning. Also, his little 'special secondary character' was lame as hell.

Manhattan is still very much there in the Lost universe.

Well if Fringe is talking about a war, and Lost is talking about a war starting. Then maybe Manhattan is currently there during Lost. And not there now after Cloverfield.

    Now that's just factually incorrect

How odd, I was just randomly looking up on crossover television yesterday. I would LOVE to see a crossover between Lost and... anything, really. =P

Lost also took place from 2004-2007, Cloverfield took place in 2009. While I'm not saying they are the same universe, it's still possible based on the Manhattan thing.

The monster from Cloverfield is the love-child of Ben & the Island.

The Cloverfield monster is Ben. It all makes sense now.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a movie that connects his shows but I don't see this happening on tv.
