AUR is the counterpart to sea and sky. Pretty sure that's how the devs said it.

Atomos is just a big http://lukehimself.net/wp-content/up...ngoliers03.jpg
I hated the TOAU story - wanted to slap the tedious bird with her silly puppets and it didn't hang together properly at all. Naja was win though - SE do do completely mental headcases well (see Shantotto) and the cardian fight at the docks was worth it for comedy value.
WOTG is just becoming incredibly well done though - while Lilsette does still induce the urge to punch that many of SE's heroes and heroines do (Tidus I'm looking at YOU), she's got a really defined personality which does make the difference really, and I love love love love love the Cait Siths and even the Spitewardens have more about themselves than the average evil henchman type dealie.
Says something when, after doing the last batch of fights last night and normally during cutscenes party chat's full of mickey-take comments - and it was pretty much silent apart from a WOAH SHIT I WANT THAT AVATAR when you know who got very very tall. I was rolling about laughing at the "new and improved" lines in chat though - just very very sweet.
I did CoP long after its release when it was pretty much fully released (apart from the final Dawn fight) - so in a way got a much better sense of the storyline from that (and I've always defended the CoP storyline despite the fact Sacrarium can go burn in hell), but WOTG is getting incredibly awesome - just wish they'd up the release rate of the story now- would be nice if they did the whole Xarcabard part (and I still would love them to give a nod to the whole Whine Cellar bit of the BLM AF quests in the Windy arc just because it would be cool) for the nations AND the missions together next patch since the events are meant to happen at the same time - but I doubt they will.
Me and my fiance always did enjoy playing this for the storyline content though - more so than a lot of people.
I still reckon more than ever that Cait Sith will be the new avatar eventually though.
I rather enjoy the artistic freedom they have given the designers for these recent missions. The unique animations really help bring the story out more. As i've explained to my ls, its part of the reason i was so disappointed with ACP; the CS quality was several steps backwards. Heck, I'm actually looking forward to repeating Dungeons and Dancers a few times; Something about it just seemed fun.
I'm unsure if WoTG will give us a new avatar, however the recent battle definatly seems like a prereq if "you know who" becomes a summon, since it was clearly summoned in the battle.
I think SE will. When I was going thru the .dats on the day of the update and I saw the summon animation for [Blank] I figured that could be one of the summons SE talked about. Looking at the last census, there were a large majority of players who were only on the first WoTG mission, so having the latest mission BC battle against [blank] being a pre-req seems like a high probability in order to get people to do missions.
Those CSes were amazing!
IMO this Expansion tops CoP already. Missions aren't too hard and most of them are fun. Dungeons and Dancers was interesting, why couldn't Excavation Duty Assault be like that? The fight after was a joke lol. Trio'd it, Just Spammed cure and threw up DoTs when i felt like it.
But yeah also think that will be the new Avatar. But didn't we say the same about Odin and Alex? I guess if he has the animation then its more likely it will be. It is Pretty Big, SE did say one of them was big
Well that SE guy said Next update will have it... let's hope he wasn't lying.
And i Really want to go to Lilith's time/dimension ; ;
Lilliths Dimension would be awsome for an endgame event sort of like Dynamis, but we will have Walk of Echos.
As far as the avatar, I was thinking about the moves it does in the BC

While I am enjoying WotG's story a lot, I wish it had the challenge of CoP. It was either in this thread or the current WotG mission thread, but someone mentioned how they felt the airship BC was the pinnacle of MMO challenges to them, and I agree. I remember having such a hard time with my group because we didn't have the best jobs available and with the level cap, gear was definitely limited. But looking back at it, actually getting through those challenges and getting to Sea was amazingly rewarding. Now, I'm certainly not saying WotG needs level capped fights (although level sync would make them much easier) and people having more jobs and merits also is helping I'm sure, but I wish some of these BCs were more challenging, or at least not lowman-able -- but, then again, with how few people are actually progressing through the missions, maybe I should just count my blessings.
Alzadaal Undersea Ruins are most definitely the sky/sea of ToAU.. except that the parts of it that require mission access are not free-to-roam areas.. but are instead instanced areas..
Also, as a matter of forming patterns..
the final BC for missions is always found in the region that is unlocked by doing missions.
nyzul isle is under alzadaal...
in the case of Walk of Echoes.. it will msot likely be the endgame zone unlocked via missions.. and the final battle is probably in the throne/pit area (see earlier pages in thread), which is in the same zone, semi-instanced... similiar to the BCs in LaVaule/Oztroja/Beadeaux... if so.. then it qualifies in the same way...
It's also worth considering that all endgame zones are convenient to access from various different entrance points (this wasn't always the case for sky of course). You can enter Sky by the Hall of the Gods or simply by using the Halls of Transference near teleports. Sea is easy to get to via the crags. Undersea Ruins can be accessed from any of it's many entrances scattered all over AU. Which makes it seem natural that WoE will be entered via any of the Maws.
Entrance from any of the maws is a likely decision.. but I can't really say that the maws themselves are really anywhere convenient...
Sky gets Tele-dem/holla/mea, then Hall of Transference warp, which is less than 3 min from anywhere..
Sea is pretty much the same.
Alzadaal is less than 3 mins too if you're already in Whitegate, which assuming you're doing the ToAU expansion stuff (and for the majority population of the game) is highly likely.
The maws themselves aren't exactly quick to reach... also is it just the [S] maws or the petrified ones in present day? not much diff tho lol
from what I've 'studied' of the maps.. the fastest way to any maw is Recall-Pashhow and choco to the maw, which is just NE. 2nd would be Recall-Jugner...
and after that I think Recall-Meriph or running from your home nation in (S) would be equally long.
or.. SE might just implement some new thing which will be used to gain access to Walk of Echoes, tho it makes most sense, storywise, for it to be thru the maws for sure
Or walk just a few hundred feet from my Mog house, through Port Bastok and hit the North Gustaberg maw? No more of a walk than OPing to Buburimu to use the Mea crag to get to sky or sea.
East Ronfaure Maw is pretty close to the exit of San d'Oria as well.
Rolanberry Fields Maw is my favorite way to get to jeuno in a hurry.
change job blm/thf and retrace self. AN port to Rolanberry. Use maw, pop flee and run to jeuno.
given the revelation of what kinda place Walk of Echoes is in the storyline, i was thinking that perhaps WoE will be used as a sort of battlefield event in this context..
***Spoilers abound***
After Lilith loses to Lilisette in the storyline, Atomos will begin to devour her future..
but because there's too much to devour at 1 go, they appear undigested in the WoE, and so Cait Sith enlists you to help Atomos in the 'digestion' process lol...
Spoiler: show
Never mind, I can't read
I'm hoping we fight all 5 Spitewardens (c'mon, you know there are five of them...) in a fight similar to Divine Might. Be fun, but hell getting people for it unless there's a good reward.
It may not be the end, but we'd better get to fight Lilith at some point. At worst, I bet we go in and kill (or weaken so Zeid can finish) the Shadow Lord, thus making it so Lilith never exists.
