This is a brilliant thread and I am glad to have stumbled across it.

When I wore my hat to work and had it on while in my suit and overcoat, I definitely caught the eye of girls on the street and got quite a few compliments. But it takes confidence to wear it well and appropriate clothes for the hat.

Indeed. I've commonly heard compliments both around the workplace and from random people on the street. It always surprises me, to be honest, the general comportment required with a hat isn't a conscious effort on my part. Needing a cane to make up for a busted knee helps in this regard.

I wear a wool fedora from Pendleton that I got ages ago from Oregon. It's served me well across three continents. Problem is, from a quick check of their website it seems they don't make an actual fedora anymore. They have other styles, though.

(Fair's fair. I didn't sport my usual slightly-too-formal look at FanFest so Sonomaa might have good reason to kill me for this post.)

I can't seem to find any stores with what I want in nyc. >.>; Went to the big macys, tried urban outfitters and a few other chains and no luck. Theres a few super fancy (Read: expensive as hell) hat stores that sells em for $200+ but that's way too much.
