It has nothing to do with big numbers and everything to do with nonsensical/mismatched gear, and lack of effort.

Why would you wear macc rings with full morri, ever? Either you're fighting standard mobs that don't resist, so you should be using sorc/5int, or you're fighting high-tier HNM and you shouldn't be using full morri.

When you have 11 lv75 jobs and do ZNM twice a week, inventory space becomes way more important that the few INT and 10MAB.

The maximum amount of damage a BLM can do is limited by the amount of hate your tank can hold. Unless you are soloing tough NM/BCNM/limbus zone, there is no reason to waste money on luxury item. Certainly don't need those gear you just mention to hit the damage cap without getting yourself killed.

FYI, I used the similar rings/earrings combo for all my mage jobs. Doesn't mean I am a terrible mage and sux at my jobs. It's just sad when ppl assume some1 don't know what they are doing because they don't fill every slot with omg +1 white box gear.

Yes the depop was exactly at the 2 hour mark.

As for the shouts in Japanese, he was directing the two linkshells. He was often telling 黒A and 黒B to move up or start firagas at X:XX ヴァナtime, which means BLM group A or BLM groub B to start ga's at X:XX Vanadiel time. The use of staggered BLMs (position wise) and 2 linkshells (Andemonium and Bndemonium) was actually very organized, and I think really helped with the attempt. Sorry I crashed right after the attempt ended. Feel free to ask any other questions now.

As for streaming, I only heard about the attempt literally 10 minutes before it started. I showed up as it was about to pop. Next time I'll do my best to stream for you guys. I -think- my LS mate might have recorded some of it with Fraps, I'll look into it.

I think it's new that PW and his lamps were spamming spells over and over again on no apparent target. What triggered this behavior and was it part of the design/natural bugginess of the mob from its inception or is it a stealth patch that caused it.

Hard or not there is new info here, and at least it was shared freely rather than trapped behind a 'you try it' aegis of arrogance.

A few questions:

(1) You said the PW damage was from "Relic SAM + Relic MNK and 2 WARs + a few blood pacts" especially in terms of the final form. How many BLM were there to deal with lamps if out of 70 people there were only 4 melee and some SMN on the main PW body? I expected with that many there'd be a full alliance on PW and then the tons of extra people all for the lamps.

(2) Seems at times the lamps went crazy and flew around. Any idea why this happened?

(3) What besides them not using BLU-zombie on the final form was significant in the time-out? (i.e. are there any new tactics we can learn from this attempt that you saw in person?)

His gear choice clearly caused the wipe. If he didn't have that B. ring equipped he could have provided the efficiency needed to survive Astral Flow. As a result, the only way to prevent future mishaps such as this is to argue pointlessly about it until everyone knows that the gear choices of an idle BLM make or break this fight.

Hachiryu Kote are good, 13-14 acc. He looks like the best that he can be, bar full usukane and possibly changing ulth ring to +7 acc. Cerb +1 too, I guess.

(1) Out of 70 people, there were about 30 black mages. They were in Bndemonium, and staggered with about 15 for the first set of -ga3s, then 20 yalms behind was the second group of 15. This is so when cackle/aoe's went off and killed the first 15, the second 15 would be in range to barrage with more -ga3s. They did not seem to nuke Pandemonium Warden himself, except when the form change wiped the tanks. Then the Warden would go white, get dragged with all the lamps, and -ga3'd like mad. This usually dropped him to 70% depending on the form. Every time the form changed, 15~30 black mages died. EVERY single person had reraise at all times. They probably blew like 1,000,000 gil in reraise easy.

(2) I believe this happened when the lamps were pulled, and did mass AoE to BLM Group A. As soon all the black mages died, the lamps immediately assisted Pandemonium Warden it seems. This was more noticable when they had faster movement, such as Puk form. They would instantly shoot straight for the tanks, often wiping the main tank instantly. Then they were repulled and brought to BLM Group B.

C) I was actually disappointed to not see any BLUs, it seems they planned on just taking it down with their available DD. After the original Astral Flow though, he didn't run around chasing anybody else. Only the main tank alliance had hate, and after Astral Flow he just idled back to the center. All 8 Astral Flows went off in the same spot, wiped the tanks/mages (it had a pretty large range, my LS mate was 20~ away and died), then that was it. He proceeded to idle to the middle and start casting on nothing over and over and over. But it seems the Final Form was indeed pretty squishy/damageable. Just a few DD with COR Rolls and BRD songs were able to drop it relatively fast. I think they originally had planned on logging out, but were pressed for time and just wanted to drop it before depop.

Oh, and multiple people had Icarus Wings/Meds/RR items in bazaar for 1 gil each.

Everyone should have RR items and meds to take care of status effects
