    Thanks for the replies.

I'll probably leave those 4 upgrades for last, in the not-so-realistic hope that the new update will bring something new to blu (equip, spells... one can dream), or that the extra inventory space will help me define my playstyle and preferences some more.

    @Shinryuu
blu tanking is something that I want to try at some point, but inventory space is too much of an issue atm.

I just did with Death Scissors[no enchainment merits as of yet]:
    Death Scissors:
    NO TP:
    964, 1040, 1030, 1001, 1032
    avg: 1013.2
    50% TP:
    1287, 1366, 1211, 1205, 1329
    avg:1279.6

So, I was gonna do more data, but have 5 was very clear that tp does scale under 100%, since was increase of over 250 dmg.

Need more than 5 data sets, especially if different mobs.

all SACA on the same lvl 0 rabbits, and I think 250 dmg gap in averages shows TP under 100% does effect it, I just did to see if tp or not effects it and seem clear it does, I don't care exactly how much just wanted to show if it did or not, and waiting 2 minutes per test kinda annoying, unless you're saying the difference in dmg is fluke.

Not necessarily. If you assume the lowest of 1st set is 1.6 PDIF and highest of second set 2.4 PDIF, assuming capped fstr and pdif (safe I think...), if the gap is wide enough it shows FTP.

But the gap isn't wide enough, though the trend is obvious.

    highest 1369 (assuming 2.4 pdif): 570 (base damage*FTP)

    lowest 964 (assuming 1.6 pdif): 602 (base damage*FTP)

Edit: nvm you seem burned out, I'll try.

Edit: nvm again, this method wouldn't work anyways because no spell's FTP grows high enough to account for any possible PDIF difference at 99%. Altho I don't believe the lower cap of 1.6 PDIF is correct.

one thing you can do is calculate base on blue magic skill and your wsc and capped fstr what you maximum dmg you could do with a 0% SACA Death scissors and try to get a 50 pr 90% tp Death scissors to go above this maximum

    Good call, I'll try that.

EDIT: Let me know if anything's wrong:

    Death Scissors:

    122 str
    60 WSC

    22 FSTR (capped)

    69 D (301 skill) 69+22+120=211

    *1.5 FTP (0 tp CA)=316
    *1.6-2.4=
    505-758

Did a 53 TP CA (with 2 Enchainment merits) Death Scissors, using frightful roar and stinking gas to make sure FSTR and PDIF capped on a lvl -1 bee in S. Gusta. Result:

    999

So either 1.5 FTP is incorrect or TP has an impact between 0-100.

5/5 on Enchainment and Assimilation. The other abilities are not worth it.

There aren't any random numbers after DMG x pDIF, are there? 'Cuz that should be 930~940 if there aren't, unless the growth is faster from 1-100 than it is from 100-150

How useful enchainment is depends on what you use your blu for. Out of the spells you'd typically use with CA, the only one that really gets any benefit is cannonball, and even than it's a minuscule bonus.

Assuming convergence still works as a ghetto elemental seal, I think the most sensible way to do cat 2 for someone that plays blu for a lot of things is 3 enchainment, 1 convergence, 1 diffusion (it's situational useful to pop refueling when you don't have a whm or rdm, or build massive hate with exuviation). If all you do with blu is cannonball hnms, than you might get more use out of just 5/5 enchainment.

It might have been something like 56-ish, whatever it was it was between 50-59 TP, CA, 122 STR, with def and vit down cast on enemy.

There's supposed to be a random .05 that can be tacked onto PDIF occasionally...or something. Supposedly newly added. The idea sounds fishy to me but there's been a few people who've made the same claim, so I assume it originates somewhere quasi-credible.
