I'm 51/2/18 and pushing near 5k on Ulduar bosses in 10 and 25 man. Been as high as 6200 on XT-002 in 25 (granted he's not a good measure of DPS in particular, but it's still a number). Usually hang around 4600-5000+ as Blood.

I got a few 6.7 and 7.1's on Razor in 10 man.. got as high as 7.9 on XT in 25, haven't gotten past those 2 ATM but I just kill people in a lot of the fights as Unholy. I'm using Ironsoul with 4 Piece T7.5. I'm currently using the 12/0/59 but will prob switch to 10/61 soonish, waiting on OS+2 helm till I can get something better.

Once you get some armor pen as blood it takes off. I still don't have a grim toll, but with the pure armor pen I have right now, i'm sitting around 5500 dps on most fights if not 6k+. Death Strikes are critting for 12k. Just need a vengeful heart and 2 piece T8.5 for my death coils.

Yep, loving blood at the moment with ArP. I'm sitting at 339 ArP currently without Grim. Highest DPS in 25man Ulduar for me so far was 7900 on Ignis.

screw you guys this thread is making me want to ignore my 68hunter and just start that DK instead.

I pretty much only do 10mans casually and pug 25's so I'm probably better off with the hunter as far as getting geared goes. Way too many DK's... although leveling one on my old Horde server is tempting.

Im not at all, the level of bad ass is indeed high. Im 61 now and loving it, earlier had like 5-6 mobs and raped the shit out of them no problem.

There are mixed feelings about HC around the community I think, but I think it'd be great for PvP for one reason alone. Most people don't anticipate it. I think maybe if I CC off the bat, one will trinket out or both will, in which case my partner can CC the healer or the plate while we take down the easier target. Really not to experienced in PvP and I understand Unholy is the cookie cutter for PvP but I'd like some opinions on this.

Setting up a HC CC chain is pretty nice, especially if you're paired with a druid. I don't think it would be as effective against higher level players since you telegraph it by saving up your RP. Not as good against dispel teams either. For those reasons and others, some people prefer unholy for pvp. Then again, if you have the sigil from XT, going frost wouldn't be a bad idea. Anyways, I don't think you can go wrong with either frost or unholy. Play with both and see which fits your partner and playstyle better. Unholy/Blood. I average about that in PvP on clothies.

The JC physical dps ring/neck isn't bad, especially if you're blood spec. The BS helm is also quite good as it gives a good dose of hit rating and strength. If you have gold to spare, you might be able to buy an Iron Riveted War Helm (good for Unholy). If you have Emblems of Valor from another character, then grab the bracers too. You shouldn't need too much gear, if you're half-way competent (or are able to mooch guild runs), to start doing regular and heroic Naxx, OS, etc.

Yeah basicaly just looking for an idea of what buyables I should scoop up so I have a good place to start on gear for DPS, right now im unholy but later on once I get some better gear and such planned on switching to blood.

This is going to be my first 80 and I havent raided or anything prior so Im still noobin it up and some of the terminology is still over my head lol. At least I know what Im doing, did alot of research prior

Yeah, it's better not to switch to blood till you get a decent amount of armor pen gear. Technically, you could almost be in full epics if you were willing to spend that much gold, but that's not likely with you being a fresh 80 nor is it necessary. Your biggest challenge will be competing with all the other DKs looking for a pug raid and establishing yourself as a decent player to get re-invites. Also, if you're looking for a decent starting weapon besides the BS hammer, run Heroic HoS for Sword of Justice, Heroic HoL for Colossal Skull-clad Cleaver, or do Argent Tournament dailies for Greatsword of the Sin'dorei.

Yeah Ive noticed the abundance of Dk's, I did ramparts earlier and all the DPS were Dk's and the other two had no idea what they were doing, one wa sin full int gear :l

Thanks alot for the tips and help, pretty soon, need to research about the heroic's, im guessing some you need some kind of key item to unlock heroic level and such. Was looking at the centerion QM and noticed they had a key item for a heroic through them, are all of them like that? Guess should be asking most of this in random question thread but w/e!

Northrend heroics don't require a key, no. Only violet hold does in dalaran, and that's just to get past the doors. Your first gear piece from heroics you should be working for is the staggering legplates from heroic utegarde keep.

80 hit on one piece is sex. Took me forever to replace them. Then yeah do the argent tournament for the GS or go Halls of lightning for the skull clad cleaver. Both are great weapons. Just get your 263 hit rating first, no matter how you go about it.

That's me so far as DPS... I'm having trouble with my DPS though.. I am frost DPS 20/51/0, the only difference I have is that I have 1 into rune tap and 2 into improved rune tap for more survivability. Most frost DPS trees I've seen has 3 into death rune mastery, and I dunno if I should respec into that. I think my rotation is not right?

Blood tap -> IT -> OB -> OB -> BS -> FS dump -> OB

My glyphs are icy touch, obliterate and frost strike. Any help would be appreciated D:

Why are you concerned with added survivability as DPS, you have healers for that in groups and Death Strike/bandages for soloing

And as I understand it, the reason DRM is better than Blood Tap is because it converts all 4 of your FU runes giving you more flexibility between that and Blood of the North (so like if you spend an inordinate amount of time outside melee range for some reason, you can 6x IT if you absolutely have to instead of dropping to 0 dps for the duration).

IT PS BS Pest/BS (trash or boss etc) OB FS dump I believe is the typical rotation, using HB on Rime procs; follow with IT PS OB OB dump, repeat from the top.
