I have just a quick question about Haste Samba.

Let's see if I can phrase my question properly...

You know how Drain Samba is a per hit proc, right? Is Haste Samba like that, or does it reflect the spell, more or less? Do you have to keep hitting the mob to keep the haste effect, or does it have some sort of carry if you miss a few swings?

Your delay will get reduced only if you hit and only for the very next swing I think. You have to keep hitting to keep getting the delay reduction for your next swing while hoping the dnc doesn't have enough a whiff fest for the mob's effect to fall before your next swing.

To break it down as much as possible:

'Haste Samba' is a positive status effect that gives the Dancer essentially an enspell effect that inflicts a short-lasting 'Haste Daze' status on whatever monster they are striking.

Now, 'Haste Daze' is a negative status effect that is on the monster that gives whoever hits it (in the Dancer's party) a reduced delay on only their next melee swing.

That is all there is to it.

    edit:

What I'm curious about is how the monsters work with it being on a player character from such things as that Gnat move that transfers negative status effects back to you. I have had my haste/drain/aspir dazes on myself but never noticed if the monster received any haste/drain/aspir effects to their melee strikes on me.

I would think that the "daze" effect may transfer, but where there is no "Samba" on the creature to continue the daze effect, it would wear off rather quickly.

OR... 'daze' effects simply do not transfer.

Well the monster isn't in your party.

an example of oversimplification that does not always apply to the mechanics of this game
