Strange router problem

I recently got a new wireless router for my house (though my PC is wired directly into it) and i can not for the life of me figure out what is going wrong but ..... whenever someone uses my tredmill (which is in an entirely different room) it knocks my internet off (constantly disconnects, and then reconnects, 5min later will disconnect again).

At first i thought it was something to do with the power, but my router stays on.

It has several lights on the front, Wireless, internet, DSL, and power. Yet only the internet light turns off not the whole thing.

Has anyone ever come across something like this?! Help i cant stand disconnecting from FF every 5 minutes!

are you complete sure its the treadmill?

try moving the treadmill to a different circuit in the house if it isn't already on one. I know my friends microwave in his kitchen (same breaker as some game room plugs) when its on screws with his cable to the point where you cant see it while its on, yet power remains normal.

I wish i could tell them to get lost but i am 100% sure its a problem with the treadmill, i did some research and found other people have had the same type of problems

Not surprising and I have heard of swimming pool pumps doing the same thing. The problem is probably radiated rf noise induced into the telephone line, at around the same frequency as the adsl.

But i cant seem to find out how to fix this problem, let alone what it means...

some people suggest using a UPS on the treadmill where it plugs in to possibly filter it, if you didnt read my above post do so because if it is coming through the power line and not the phone line its very possible that will fix it. try plugging it in across the house somewhere else and see if it still does it.
