Even when I turn Vsync on it only gets rid of the squeling but still hear the craackling sound from the card :/ anyone got solution to this? It's quite annoying especially when I leave FFXI on in rolanberry to bazaar... i hear it when i sleep! >_<

Fan issue maybe? Also this is a fairly new card? Any warranty on it to RMA?

possibly a wire stuck in the fan? probably more of a 'thumping' sound though....

It's not a mechanical noise as much as an electronic noise... it only appears when underload, so the fan isn't the problem.

I am pretty sure it's coming from the Capcitor coils... and was wondering if anyone have a fix for that?

Your graphics card is so powerful it's a miniature tesla coil? Crackling isn't exactly the most descriptive onomatopoeia, unfortunately. Does it sound like plastic crack or electricity? In either case, I'm with RMA the thing if you can. Better safe than sorry.

You're dealing with harmonic vibrations from a poorly insulated inductor coil.

Its not a simple fix either. I know this 100% since I had a friend in college with a 8800GT that did the same thing except it was more of a "whizzing" noise.

When he applied pressure to the coil, it muffled and shut up the noise temporarily. When released, it went back to its original annoying state.

You could try something to cover it such as a high temperature resistant wax, glue, etc., but I generally wouldn't recommend that since your chopping your warranty (if you even have one?) into pieces.

My highest suggestion is to RMA that bad boy back. From what it looks like, this problem is very common of recent with manufactured nvidia boards (8 series and up, many google threads pertaining to this if you wanna look it up).

It's like a "buzzzzzzzz" or "cza cza cza cza" low vibrating sound. I've also heard this is supposedly "normal" and card vendors will not RMA ....

Yea I think I am gonna see if I can RMA... if not I might have to go with the some alteration to the card... THe thing is with the GTX 2XX series... they have this huge metal casing on top of the capcitors and I am not that comfortable dismantling the metal casing...
