All I know is the impedence on the ones I have right now is 32 ohms, I'm not quite sure how that is in relation to other headphones (like the standard iPod headphones for example) but from what I had seen, many were in the 32-64 range (+/-) for the type of cans I was looking to buy.

How expensive is what? My cans were $300, the amp was $60 (you can spend $500 on an amp, don't).

That's not bad. High-impedance headphones can be north of 100 ohms.

Upgraded from a pair of SR-80's to SR325i's.

    My setup:

    -IPod Classic 120GB
-Line out (this is awesome for improving sound quality by bypassing the headphone jack)
    -CMOY Amp
    -Grado 325i's

Absolutely incredible quality. Listening to music is an experience with that setup.
Nice setup. I have a pair of Senneiser280 and am planning to upgrade soon. For now, it's actually better to listen to music without them because I also have the logitech Z-5500 THX 5.1 surround sound system, which makes everything sound like a concert at home.

And best of all you can talk to people and hear them as if you weren't wearing headphones at all.

The HD-590's were replaced by the 650's iirc (Same speakers, Cheaper design imo)
Wow, you know nothing about what your talking about. Yeah, the same 'speaker', except they have 6x the impedance and sound nothing alike. You're also forgetting the hd600's. The problem is you've most likely heard the 650s on your computer, w/o a headphone amp or a proper dac. Not having a good dac is a sin, the computer isn't a great source to begin with, and not doing anything to improve the quality isn't going to help. Your 595's will most likely sound better on a computer with no amp then the 600's or 650's because the normal output for computers is capable of up to 30ohms, and the 595's require up to 50. But the 600's and the 650's require up to 300. It's a whole diffrent ball game. You can't plug them into the back of your computer and expect to get quality sound out of them.

If you are playing from a computer, you need to get a quality dac, and an amp to get good sound from them. Also, if you are going to go for one of the PCI all in one deals, don't get the Asus Essence STX. There are better options in the same price range.
