idk how to do the math for it but i know its been beaten in years ago when wala first came out that until you can manage mid teens in haste gear its not worth it. For me i could technically get 15% haste but that requires ditching dunes which is proven to be a downgrade unless your at capped haste gear and spells (includes brd).

so its really is 13 haste vs 8, haste scales exponetially so you will see less returns from it at this low of value then you would at say 25% like most mnks get nowadays. Once I am able to get that type of haste value you bet i will go full haste, even once i get byakkos haidate it will be worth it but not until then.

So for me the ohat/enkidus will be better dd wise then wala until that day i get Black belt or byakkos ;D then it wont be.

"HAste not worth it untill XX %" is an old theory, more recently proven to be rubbish.

5% Acc vs 5% Haste.
Going from 80 to 85 Acc: 6.25% DoT increase.
Going from 23 to 28% haste (Assume Brown Belt + Spell): 6.94%
Going from 19 to 24% haste (Assume Brown + 1 March): 6.57%
Going from 8 to 13% haste (Just Brown Belt): 5.74%

So if you have no buffs, OHat wins yes? Well, if you have no buffs in a merit party, /pcmd leave. If you're soloing, you wont need the Acc from ohat anyway.

The way I see it: You can eat acc food, you can eat attack food, you can eat acc and attack food. But you can't eat Haste food =X so gear for it.

EDIT: And ditch the Rajas in TP and Asuran builds. You can certainly afford a second woodsman, and unless your acc is capped you'll do a lot better with the acc.

I plan to get Aurum Sabatons sometimes in the future, I do believe I almost have the zeni for the pop but I'll also keep my Dusk ledelsen +1(signed so anally raped by reznap if I sell etc).

Rajas is better than a Woodsman for TPing on Mnk. 5STR > 2.5Acc.
(Edit: Ignored Dex for crit etc)

Also, I'm assuming the value of fStr for Mnk is similar to a low DMG rated weapon like Dagger, instead of a higher value one like Polearm or Gaxe etc. That right?

ya i believe on colibri it takes 107 str to cap out, either way im not buying a woodsman just for xp, for solo play the subtle blow is to much to pass for 2.5 acc imo, plus the stp is nice, i think its shaves off one hit overall to 100tp too.

and like noodles said 5 str will probably do more then 2.5 acc anyhow on mnk, not looking at the other improvements.

however 2 toredors would be a no brainer ;D but as you can see i have other stuff i need first lmao ;D BB items are spendy

Dont think i always tp in acc head... i have a macro that swaps to wala also but i usually only use this when i have haste+march on, as i already knew in high haste it does indeed add alot more. I only merit on mnk when i have 1 support so the norm then is min/march at birds and im a costumed to shitty rdms, if i have 2 i go sam and rape with polearm lol ;D. Anyhow i thank you for input its helpful to see the math but considering i hate to miss ill lose that .5% dot increase on paper since im usually not on a bird more then 20 sec anyhow and doubt im pulling in that extra hit. Also i have parsed myself before and found a better return off of the acc head... so im still skeptical since i remember that old post making such an influence on me as a young player and still believing it to this day.

also idk if other mnks have experienced this but i avg higher with HF then i do with asurans unless im breaking 600ish attack Which is rare for my pty setups i get into. Hows this working for the rest of you?

That's correct, MNK weapon rank is based on weapon DMG+ without counting h2h base damage. What this means is MNK caps fStr at a very low actual Str number, though. Pushing Str gear on Mnk is just not very productive, unless we're talking Dragon Kick/Howling Fist.

I'd most definitely take the 2acc over 5Str though (It's 2 in both WS and TP sets, given it makes his Dex even). 5Dex isn't likely to make or break his crit tier either. It's not a full-on crit build, and his base Dex on Galka is rather low.

Edit: Since I just saw your post. If I'm eating meat, and receiving Min/Min/March/March (leaving an acc defecit to anything but a full usu Mnk), I most definitely average higher with Howling fist since too many of Asuran's hits will miss on average. Eating sushi, then receiving attack* buffs, that's far less likely to happen. I don't see why you're looking at Black Belt if you're not using Turban fulltime =X it's less haste increase, for 3-6M (8-12% vs 0-5% in respective slot). If you need to drop something for acc, don't drop turban. Drop fumas for Denali feet, buy a second woodsman, and get a Cuchulain's mantle. Or just eat sushi when you're not receiving any kind of acc buff =x

Youre probably getting subpar Asuran's cause you dont have enough Acc on. ADD MOAR!

hmm you might be right but i normally have decent ws acc as i see returns of 16-17 often so im usually only missing one hit.

292 skill + 59 acc + 80 dex (40 acc) puts me at = 283 + 99 acc or 382 acc meaning im 25 short of cap , and 5 over cap during focus which i ride the timer using.

when focus is down i do need find that 25 acc elsewhere though but im hard pressed to where i will find it w/o uber expensive gear.

upgrade will be shura legs+1 (3 acc), denali feet (1 acc), diablos earring (3 acc), minuet i could get... but i often dont pty with brd but for sake of this ill count it ( 3.5 acc), realistically im looking at only 10 more acc here, and 12 if i add another woodsman.

I gues i would need to ws in chuch mantle for the 7 acc, upgrade my hands to N kote, and HQ both my rings to cap it out lol ;D but i dont have 9m laying around atm ><;

am i missing any easy upgrades, not including usu?

BLM - You'll need to finish upgrading your AF items obviously, but I'm sure the Temenos item is eluding you as it is for many others. For your Idle setup I'd recommend getting a Sorcerer's Earring. For Dark Magic builds I personally favour Haste% over things like Magic Acc. I'd just use W.Turband/Goliard Body/Nashira Feet/Swift Belt, but keep the AF Legs on for the +15 skill. I still get very acceptable numbers from my Aspir/Drains and I'm able to spam them just a little bit more. But this depends on what you use BLM for. If you don't intend on using Drain/Aspir a lot then stacking Haste isn't much of an issue.

RDM - Merciful/Altruistic Capes would be a good upgrade. Maybe if inventory allows, you can work on getting a Mythic Wand +1 (or Mistilteinn) and that Muse Tariqah. I don't think you even need to use an Enfeebling Torque for Slow/Paralyze on most mobs. So you may want to consider switching to your Morgana's Choker. For your INT enfeebles, try and get Goliard Clogs or Avacot Pigaches. Goliard would probably be better, but I really don't know. And I also tend to use Swift Belt in my INT enfeebles just for recast purposes. Nashira Legs would be a good addition as well. If you merited Phalanx 2, then you can work on getting a 301 Enhancing Magic set. I dunno if you'd have the inventory space for it though lol.

Crizto:I drain quite a bit so I'll check out adding more haste on that set, also I have the materials for my first BLM af+1 (thinking of doing body). Concerning BLM idle, sorc. earring, goliard legs, swapping in Genie head, and maybe a jelly ring. (situational) For RDM would sea capes be ideal, considering the idea of swapping out enfeebling torque in favor of more mnd/int? I have a muse tariqah but pre 80 inventory/ mog satchel I just didn't have the room for it. To be quite honest 70 inventory was holding me back from bringing a lot of gear along for both BLM & RDM. Ultima/Nyzul/ZNM gear is in the works just need to sink more time into it.

noodles355:Still trying to find a good THF .xml, lack of AGI gear, and inventory issues. Now that inventory is a non issue I think that sounds like a good idea and I'll be looking into it once i have some money to build a reasonable AGI setup.

Uggy pendant's nice if you use Spellcast, or have separate macros for when it'll proc and when it won't. Aside from that, maybe the Int+5 neck thing for when fighting weaker/merit-level things? I can't remember the name, I'm almost never on Blm. The one that looks like tiger stole.
