Cursed Mail -1 Price

Sorry about this again, but these threads seem to be acceptable.

I'd like to buy a Cursed Mail -1, but they're obviously rare (for good reason) and the price seems to vary between 500k and 10mil.

If you crafted one of these puppies, or if you were buying/have bought one what's an acceptable rate?

I know on Shiva they have gone for 8~12M in the last year. I was trying to HQ one of these for my COR nearly 2 years ago for a max MP kit but when I got serious about salvage I stopped to put my gil into salvage materials. I've put at least 7.2M by today's gil into synthesis (I had the dragon mail synthed by bonecraft friends). I think it would be dumb to sell it for anything under 6M unless the crafter was really lucky or really needed to get rid of it quick. After I finish a few more salvage pieces I hope to return to my failing of HQing this thing. I would probably pay up to 10M if I had the gil (maybe 12M if I just couldn't wait any longer) and found a -1 for sale, but I would try and talk them down to at least 8M.

Thanks for the input. I'm leveling Alchemy on my mule for the purpose of Steel Bullets and Cursed Mail -1, so maybe I'll get lucky

10mil is a lot to pay for something that has limited use to a COR in the first place.

Correction, they've gone for 6~12M within the last year on Shiva. And yea 10M for just COR/WHM seems like a waste, but I'm somewhat of a perfectionist.

On topic - Friend sold one for 10m on Valefor towards the end of last year.

I've sold 3 on the Lakshmi Server for 6-8Mil.... 8mil took a while to sell. 6Mil was easy overnight in Rolanberry Malls. I sold 2 on Phoenix for 5Mil but thats when I was poor and over anxious to get some gil..

Also that synth sucks to do. I've gone 1/5 on it before and then other times I've gone 0/50...

Grats on getting lucky and making a T0 synth, but even with a 2% ish chance on the HQ it'll happen if you try it enough times. The other crafting voodoo information didn't help with the synth.

I agree, HQ seems utterly random, especially at that tier, but it is always one of the first questions I get - which direction/moon phase etc. so I decided to document it anyway for anyone interested.

Cursed mail is a 99 synth, with gear + adv support that's 106 skill so it's not enough to jump you up to t1.

But I did and still do wear all my gear for synthing these bodies.

I don't know... I still hold onto the idea that every +1 is factored into the crafting formula.. breaking the tiers is only like a "milestone".

But I know less than you guys about crafting, so meh. Just programaticly makes sense.

Well it depends on how you look at it.

If crafting works on a curve then yes every + to skill helps a bit and the tiers would be more of markers or milestones as you pointed out.

However if crafting works on a step function then the tiers are the hq levels and unless you have enough +skill to jump up to the next step it won't help you at all.

i would buy it for 6M but its so rare, people don't even try for it anymore or just want to sell it for 12M even after 2 years of being bazaared :/
