Silent Hill 1/2/3 scared me more than any other games I have ever played. I used to play them at night in the dark after I got home from work with stereo headphones.

Can I have your babies? Too bad this was a game and not a movie, and it's pretty tragic that virtually no one knows what it is due to a. it being banned in some countries and b. it being a very mediocre in terms of gameplay. Excellent story - not so much scary as heart-wrenching and, as you said, creepy.
If you're making a list of horror games that mess with you, Silent Hill 1 and 2 have to be on it. Resident Evil 1 directors cut was a great game too, back on the original PS1. Now that game did freak you out. Resident Evil has always been more about the anticipation of something popping out, then that thing finally popping out at you. Silent Hill is all about the anticipation that something is going to pop out, and that it's getting closer and closer...but it never fucking pops out, it just stalks around you playing mindgames.
The Nemesis chasing you around in 3 and Big Guy coming slamming through walls in 2 were both really fun times.
Alright I'm going to be picking this up with DW:Gundam 2 next week what gun(s) do I need to upgrade fully first and is this "egg" glitch still around?
Upgrade the first weapons of every set to max to unlock new weapons. You definitely want to upgrade the Ithaca to get the Hydra, because the Hydra rocks. The unlockable pistol is not worth it, and neither is the unlockable machine gun (crappy gatling gun for Chris), sniper rifle unlockable weapon is bow (Good, not great, get all for achievements/trophies though). Overall, get Hydra.
Egg glitch (actually duping) still works I think. I advise against using this liberally, as it quickly destroys the replay value of single player--However, nothing wrong with using it a few times
If you need help with a few eggs, or need a pardner lemme know. It's fun playing through the game with no infinite ammo on and to play with people who haven't played before.
XBL: Kwijboe <--Missing an 'i', some bastard out there competing for my name.
You probably got on PS3 though, huh? I remember you from the Killzone2 thread.
Beat it on Veteran without any upgraded guns then indulge yourself in mercenaries and versus. Professional is too stupid with it's instant death. I never saw the appeal in blasting through co-op again on with infinite ammo besides to get the BSAA emblems or speed runs (are speed runs with infinite ammo even legit?). The game changes drastically without upgrading guns (clip sizes are a lot smaller (9 vs 50+ for the pistol) and I find it much more Resident Evil-like.
I didn't list Silent Hill because for whatever reason, they just didn't do anything for me. Talk about a pleasant surprise though. I was playing online with a buddy of mine and we on 3-1 in the swamplands. Stopped at the sunken ship to get the free rocket launcher and realized it had the infinite ammo insignia on it. So apparently in all my multiple clearings of the game I must have beaten it once in under five hours. Made the game stupidly easy. My buddy was yelling at me to stop using the rocket launcher because it made it too easy....on professional mode lol.
My friend unlocked and fully upgraded the Hydra shotgun and it didn't seem all that great on the stat screen and he never really used it. What's so good about it over the shotgun with best att? The M3 I think.
I'm in the same boat. My friend swears by the Hydra. I stick with the M3 but it's more of a personal preference than anything. Same way with the magnums. He uses the L. Hawk and I use the handcannon.
L. Hawk is the first gun you should upgrade/infinite really. Enough power to one- or twoshot everything, with less kickback and faster firerate than handcannon or the starter magnum.
Hydra is fun, but seems to make your accuracy go to hell for some odd reason. I used Ithaca a lot first, but switched to M3 for my shotgun-shenanigans now.
Anyone got some opinions on the machine guns? I played coop on my first playthrough and left all the machine guns to my friend, so I haven't really played with them outside of mercenaries.
Personally I swear by the AK47. Highest damage and the clip size is not bad at all. Recoil is kinda bad though.
Seriously? A handgun that fires up to 3 round bursts and has a higher damage rating than the Ithaca when fully upgraded isn't worth it?
If you've got the infinite ammo for it it's practically a Machine Gun and the kick on it isn't too bad.
L.Hawk is very nice though. Great rate of fire and insane damage when maxed. I need to get back to the game one of these days and finish up all the weapon upgrades.
I personally tend to avoid using the machine guns since they shoot your accuracy to shit. I usually just give one to Sheva but took it away from her now that she has the bow and arrow. I didn't mind using the AK or the MP5 since for whatever reason I tended to avoid the "spray and pray" method. But using the last machine gun I would destroy my accuract everytime I busted it out.
I don't mind the 3 shot pistol at all. It's as you said practically a machine gun. But you have more control over the accuracy since it's only a three shot burst. It's strong once it's upgraded. It's not a bad gun to use.
I never use machine guns any more (which is strange because I always preferred machine guns in RE even when others said they sucked) they just aren't as great anymore. You could use the finale pistol for better effect.
I hate how I can give Sheva the fully upgraded magnum but if I pick up a pistol and give it to her for space she equips that instead. I can't give that bitch nothing.
Usually the partner equips a better weapon in attack mode, but I can't get them to equip the right weapon (or anything different) for situations.
What I normally did was give Sheva the last machine gun you could get. It has infinite ammo on it. She would use that as her "cover" weapon. When she moves into "attack" mode she busts out the bow and arrow. Usually I only carry the handcannon and the M3 unless I'm going into a boss battle then I usually toss on the rocket launcher if I'm trying to do a speed run.
When I am playing with infinite ammo nothing beats the unlockable fully upgraded magnum. 5000 damage a shot just obliterates everything.
Anyone duping rotten eggs for cash? Is it even necessary? I've beaten the game 2x and always running out of cash to update the weapons ;x
Just play through on easy with infinite ammo. You can blaze through the game really fast and make tons of cash and get points to unlock figurines and infinite ammo too.
