Resident Evil 5! | Switch Edition - 2019

It just feels different, not necessarily bad. From dark, creepy environments to daylight with a partner is a huge change...it feels more like a survival action than a survival horror. Also, controls feel a bit awkward after Dead Space, but I guess I'll get used to it.

So far there's only one part of the game that's dark/creepy and that's the cave with no lights other than the lantern you're given.
One person holds it and can't use anything else while the other person clears the path, too bad that part is kind of short.
I haven't beaten the game yet so I don't know if there's more.

jus shut up and enjoy the fun factor in the game dont be itchin about some controls..
i cant believe ppl now days..i have all the resident evils and ive beaten all of them..and 5 so far jus about tops RE4 which i just beat a few days ago preparing me for 5...
get RE5 if u liked dead space..cuz they are the same one is a shooter the other is a horror..

Loving the game so far. Can't wait to get farther into it. I really don't get what the gripe is all about. I will say that the only thing that sucks so far is the fact that I can't divvy up the ammo I have on my to give to my friend instead of giving it one lump sum.

Yeah, that kinda sucks. There was a RE previously, was it... Zero for GC? Where you could pass ammo in stacks of 15, or whatever the type of ammo divided by when you picked it up. (If that doesnt make sense, it's 3 am and I'm tired) That is one thing I don't get about certain game series, why go backwards?

Personally, I thought the 1up review was kinda bad. I don't want to hear games compared over and over again to other games which are not of the same genre. Gears of War is a 3rd person over-the-shoulder shooter. It's not Resident Evil in any other way and therefore should not be compared to Resident Evil. I get bored of hearing "It's not this and this and this" when I'd rather hear "It's this and this, and these things could be done better".

Side Question: Can you dodge at all in 5? I didn't do it in the demo, and it would be dumb if they removed it.

Unbelievable. During my first co-op session ( on2-2), my game froze. Turned it back on, and what do you know.... RROD! This is my second 360, and I'm not too happy about it. My friend has an extra 360 thankfully which he is going to let me borrow until I get this one fixed.

Here's to hoping Xbox #3 will serve me better (and yes, I keep my 360 well ventilated/dust free, and I only play games installed to my HD).

Looks like the dodge system is replaced by kick, hook etc. You can also dash towards them.

got mine from midnight opening, i died so many times vs the huge guy w/ axe. am i not suppose to killl him or something?

Dont have to kill, but if you do you get a money item.

There is dodge, but only in CSs, bosses, and so far one enemy move that I've encountered.

Oh duh, I misread you.
Only other mode atm is "Mercenaries Mode" (survive till the time runs out), and yea it has the online option too.

There are more slightly creepy sections that come up. I think chapter 4 onwards.

You know, I am surprised that didn't happen to me. The last time it happened was the day GTA 4 came out. I got about 15 minutes into the game when it froze and I got RROD. I'm just praying my 360 holds up! It always seems to happen when a brand new great game comes out that you're clamoring to play. lol

I think the differences are negligible, though if I were you, I'd save the 360 for exclusives cuz your PS3 is a lot less likely to brick.

Also, no dodge sucks.

I don't know if you all already saw this, but there are more modes planned than just those couple... lemme go find it, can ignore if you've seen it.

We spotted it and now it's reality: Capcom will be adding several new online multiplayer modes to Resident Evil 5, for a price. The "Versus" pack will allow up to four players to compete across two different game types, including Slayer's Rule, a "point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis," and Survivor's Rule, which focuses on player-vs-player combat, with the last person standing claiming victory. Each game mode will support one-on-one, or two-vs-two play.

Capcom says Versus mode will be available "a few weeks" after the game's release and will cost 400 ($5) and $3.99 $4.99 on Xbox Live and PSN, respectively. Update: Capcom has noted that the cheaper price on PS3 was an error. Equality for all!

Edit 2: I dunno if this is the same as that, but trophies were confirmed for these so the PS3 is getting them for sure. Probably 360 also, not sure though.

PS3 owners of Resident Evil 5 will find a special surprise waiting for them when comparing their Trophy info with friends. Capcom has (accidentally?) revealed information about the game's upcoming DLC through newly uploaded Trophies. The DLC appears to introduce a number of new online modes: Slayers, Survivors, Team Slayers, Team Survivors and Versus. It's not exactly clear what these modes entail, but they appear to be competitive modes. "Team Survivors" gives us hope that Capcom is working on a co-operative mode inspired by Left 4 Dead.

Yeah, unless 360 offers some significant improvement in graphics or functionality I generally buy PS3 versions just cause they have faster load times(even compared to installed 360 games).
