I have personally used an R4 for about 2 1/2 years now and had very few problems, and I would recommend it.

These are worth getting right? Whats so great about cyclods it's alot more money then r4.

I think they may have stopped making firmware updates for the R4 but I'm not sure. I know they had some recent thing where the courts in japan granted an injunction preventing their sale (although that wasnt actually stopping retailers in akibahara from selling them) so I'd guess the company is on its last legs. Someone may know what's going on with them better than me, you may want to check gbatemp.net's forums and see if there are any comparitive reviews as well.
