I think that'd be a dumb idea tbh. Would fill the game with a bunch of ppl dual boxing alts that will kill themselves for gb and ballista points and stuff like that that would just rin the game for everyone who is playing for fun

If I plan on going to a match, I will usually shout from the start of the game day leading up till sign ups.

Ballista X cap, gather together [insert zone here] sign ups 12:00-22:00 Y'sDay and it'll in most cases at least get enough players to have a match.

Why would a FFXI player, a FFXI player since 2003, want to play Ballista, with all the equipment swaps causing penalties?

This.. is extremely annoying, altough it forces you to make choices, it makes the majority of your gear quite useless.
Still Ballista is a fun event, sadly with still no proper rewards (why not up the xp to campaignish levels?) and even less players nowadays.

Ballista no reward/anything is pretty much the biggest deterent for players to participate... almost every single thing you do in FFXI gives you SOMETHING that's useful for a reward... i mean 3000 Gil for win and 500 Limit/EXP is just not worth the trouble for most casual playrs to go through the frustrating experience...

I do ballista quite a lot though for fun.

The best way to get people to ballista is just make taunts/intersting shouts on the registration day...

Siren ballista is full of drama and is quite funny lol.

Most casual player gets REALLY discourage when they lose very badly on one-sided matches... Games with less than 5 people can get REALLY one-sided when one teams has the "right" setup and the other team isn't setup correctly...
