Saw this on the 'Sleeper' article on slashdot. Made me lol.Originally Posted by Some Poster on Slashdot

Some do like "The extreme challenge" and would probably want to checkout the game, just to be... "that one" that can do it!
Alot would see it as a bad thing, but some rise up for the challenge and when they beat it will be praised throughout the community for that 1 crazy guy that lead a group to kill the hardest know thing in a game
Reminds me when I started ffxi "Man that mithra looks hawt, wonder if theirs any hentai for this game" back when no pics seemingly existed, after awhile found some pics and went on from there O_o
and so started the ffxi modding and pictures!
Just recently I think theirs been custom elvaan female "motion" modifications for ingame
This is what SE will do if we get close to Killing AV again?
an earlier failed attempt where the guilds "beat it down to 27% and then it mysteriously disappeared. Without dying. It seems that one of the Game Masters at SoE reset the zone because 'they thought the encounter might be bugged'."
We went over the law thing here on the forums, as I recall I wrote a rather amusing letter to an editor of a local newspaper laughing at the stupidity of their state legislature. No idea if they published it or not, probably not.
Of course, it is true, you cannot (or could not, anyway) cancel via the website, so I suppose if the person had already uninstalled POL or whatever, it could be a pain, but the phone number is all over the service and support pages and always has been, and that was the other part of the articles that were written about this idiot kid - he claimed that there was no easily able to be found phone number, etc.
First RPG to prompt a change in State law
Game: Final Fantasy XI
Publisher: Square Enix
When Alan Edwards of Illinois, USA, tried to cancel his Final Fantasy XI account, he soon found that there was nowhere online to allow him to do so. (LOL) This prompted his parents, Frank and Linda, to call on their friend State Representative Raymond Paul, who introduced a successful bill that forces all internet gaming companies to provide a method of online cancellation for residents of the state of Illinois.[/QUOTE]
And yet you still can't cancel an XBL subscription online, you have to call it in at 1-800-4MY-XBOX or something like that.
Isn't Xbox Live a pain up the ass to unsubscribe to also since their customer service it pretty bad?
This is incorrect. Del-Sabers dropped Body Parts.
a Sealed J-Sword was able to be obtained via Jungle and Tower Zones off Gi-Gues *They looked a lot like Achomoth type mobs* under the Skyly Section ID.
Interesting thought: A Sealed J-Sword was like a Nyzul Isle Weapon. You had to swing it a shitload of times to break or unseal it into a Tsumikiri J-Sword.
Fuck me for remembering that shit....![]()
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!
Boy does that bring back memories. Of course neither of us were the ones slaughtering those giant bugs by the thousands and still not having the damn thing drop. That area was one of my least favorite in the game though, but I detested caves even more so.
sup, lets go kill dark falz
Indeed you did... The J-sword was more of a showpiece anyway, much like virtually every other blank uber-rare in that game. I liked how the special was different from everything else, but it wasn't worth emptying your PB meter. Some of the best weapons though, were high hit% charge vulcans.
Salv gear isn't insanely better than the next best option (abjs/sky gear) either, so it's about the same? @ your pic: Meteor Cudgel for the win, actually got one of those legit from a room full of those Flowers and telepipe'd till NM popped XD
Those droprates Byte mentioned were actually worse than I remembered from the Gamcecube (Dreamcast version was even worse though). Highest I remember was like 1/52000 or so for that crap like Psycho Wand from Sorcerers at the spaceship (had the most sorcerers in a level iirc lol). Double Cannon was fun to built legit, Lavis cannon+2 of those 1/256 synth item drops from a NM (Hildetorr? XD could cast death, called Megid?) on the Gamecube.
Also good times cheating on Dreamcast PSO, version 2 was so much fun with it XD
Action replay for the win.
Sealed J Sword mystery was fun, actually tried helping solve that mystery on pso-world lol. Good times with PSO despite it being so shitty with FSODs and droprates XD
If you ask me this speaks more negatively of Guinness Book records and the U.S. legal system than it does of Square or FFXI.
I dunno, I like the idea of that Illionios law in a way. Sure the guy was a dumbfuck since you can cancel your subscription from POL.
I can see the PW one being a bit of a negative thing though since the media will make a big deal out of anything if they can make some money off of it.
